His approval rating shot up above 80% after this. There was a period of years where any criticism of any of Bush's actions was labeled as "siding with the terrorists." Almost all of the media toed this line. Watching almost the entire population toe that line and refuse to question his invasion of Iraq was absolutely maddening.
