I'm guessing it's a gimmick that someone who might not go sit at a slot machine would consider using once it came up to them. That might get them to continue gambling after.
Casinos are big on whale hunting, so if this captures the occasional whale it's perfect for them
The only benefit for the casino I can think of is that the hardcore slots players may soil themselves less if it can follow them into the restroom. I can think of hundreds of issues that they would cause though
