In an exclusive statement shared with Rolling Stone, Messina Touring Group, promoter of the U.S. leg of Sheeran’s Loop Tour, said: “As the concert promoter for Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop Tour, we have been notified by venues on the upcoming U.S. tour dates that they will not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup, which would result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans.
...
The venues that allegedly objected to the rapper include: Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia; Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts; Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta; Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis; Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina; AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas; and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

This boycott is going weirdly backwards. instead of people actually boycotting Israeli products and businesses, it's them that are boycotting musicians and closing businesses that are against the genocide.
Macklemore getting affected now. People need to stop going to concerts that are organised, owned and controlled by pro-genocide scum.
We look from afar wondering how they have so much control over the government's etc.. They have it over the general public too. People are too comfortable using, buying and going to Israeli linked things.
That needs to stop first and foremost. Ed Sheeran should be ashamed, as he sits idly by, but equally so, the people that now know about this and still decide to attend should also be ashamed of themselves.

This article is much more detailed than the Needle Drop one that was posted earlier. Still no statement from Sheeran, though.

I hope Sheeran realizes he's taking a side one way or the other.

Ed Sheeran supports genocide? What a racist bigot. Bye, Felicia. Damn, is everyone is fucking shit stain in this timeline?
statelesz@slrpnk.net · -9 pts · 2d
Isn't it somewhat of a stretch to call him a "genocide supporter" when he literally got an ultimatum to either play without Macklemore or not at all and choose the first for reasons we don't know.
OldChicoAle@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2d
He's probably rich enough to not need this. Why do it at all when you can make a stand for innocent people being murdered. Canceling the show would send a message to all those venues and the fan base.

Macklemore and Sheeran seem like an odd pairing to begin with. Anyway, I guess I won't be buying any Kraft products moving forward.

The rapper that says 'Free Palestine' said 'Free Palestine.' Shocked Pikachu face.

It certainly validates my perceptions of them both. That Macklemore has something to say worth saying, and Ed Sheeran doesn't.

Who wants to go to the pro genocide concerts?
nullspace@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d
I'd like two tickets for Ed Sheeran's Genocide Tour, please.
Fishnoodle@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2d
Ed should just cancel the tour at this point.
Don't fill the stadiums at all if they won't let you speak
statelesz@slrpnk.net · 2 pts · 2d
Good faith perspective is that Ed Sheeran didn't want his concert to get cancelled for his fans and his decision has zero political incentive.

Sure, maybe. It's the outcome that matters though
