What's wrong with ciders?

victorz@lemmy.world · 95 pts · 4d (2 replies)

Well they're not beers are they mate

(Disclaimer: I hate beer)

unitedwithme@lemmy.today · 9 pts · 4d (1 reply)

I bet you Kyle hasn't tried a Dickens' Cider though!

Leviathan@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3d

I've had a Dickens' Cider!

Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip · 33 pts · 3d (6 replies)

Some guys are so insecure and dumb that they think fermented barley and water is more manly and tough than fermented apples and water.

HerbGrower@slrpnk.net · 13 pts · 3d (2 replies)

What about fermented berries and honey?

Mead is Viking drink, must be manly! But berries add fruity flavours and colours that are girly.

architect@thelemmy.club · 12 pts · 3d (1 reply)

Nothing more manly than a man drinking a fruity drink and enjoying himself.

Brickhead92@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3d

Word! Real men don't need their masculinity to be defined by others.

Hansae@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 7 pts · 3d (2 replies)

Its weird because culturally in some parts of the UK cyder is what men and farmers drink xd

Paddzr@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3d

It's either cider or guiness.

AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d

Also in Brittany, in northern Spain, and probably many other places.

mrmisses@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 4d (1 reply)

They're delicious and I drink too many

JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 4d

Hangover juice

FiniteBanjo@feddit.online · 2 pts · 4d (1 reply)

In some countries Ciders are nonalcoholic or dilluted alcohol.

SirActionSack@aussie.zone · 18 pts · 4d

In this case it's just some bogan implying that drinking cider makes you less of a man.

en1gma@lemmy.ml · 69 pts · 4d

You can’t have that honest conversation with an AI bot. Things we have lost.

dektep@lemmy.world · 42 pts · 4d (1 reply)

such honesty is refreshing

ShankShill@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 2d

Like a cider.

MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip · 41 pts · 4d (14 replies)

What's up with drinking ciders?

ayyy@sh.itjust.works · 52 pts · 3d (12 replies)

Some people are so deeply insecure in their sexualities that they believe the color and flavor of liquids you ingest will make you suddenly want to participate in same-gendered coitus. It’s really pathetic.

MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip · 12 pts · 3d (10 replies)

So a gender identity thing?

And what about wine? Hard boys only drink the strong stuff, no?

Beer? Has female hormones in it!

village604@adultswim.fan · 12 pts · 3d (5 replies)

No, it's a sexual orientation thing.

They think that liking "girly" drinks means you're gay.

MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 3d (4 replies)

...so they really believe that fermented apple juice will make your sexual orientation "fluid"?

village604@adultswim.fan · 19 pts · 3d (3 replies)

Nope, it's a binary thing to them.

Liking things that women like = being gay. They're not very complex thinkers.

MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 3d (2 replies)

But that's pre-schooler level.

TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id · 5 pts · 2d

Now you're getting it.

MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 2d

And that's why most of the world is fucked

rindo25@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2d

Why does this read like a Disco Elysium thought?

Geobloke@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 3d (2 replies)

Dunno, depends on if it's little fat lamb, goon or expensive plonk

tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 2d (1 reply)

little fat lamb

Other than wine that's about the cheapest abv you can get in Oz. One of the worst countries in general I've been to for drinking on the cheap.

Geobloke@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2d

We are pretty expensive for a night out, still cheaper than Sweden

jupiter_jazz@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 2d

I swear they invent more and more shit to be fragile about

yermaw@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 3d

Some Pommy shit there mate

gigastasio@sh.itjust.works · 37 pts · 4d

Kyle is a real one.

rekabis@lemmy.ca · 31 pts · 4d

That is maybe the most Aussie text chat I have seen in a damn long time.

earl_emorning@lemmy.zip · 31 pts · 4d (4 replies)

What a dog cunt

mcheva@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 4d (1 reply)

What kind of fucken drongo uses optus. What a bunch of useless cunts. Also fuck Telstra.

JizzmasterD@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 4d (1 reply)

Is this the Australian/Southern Ontario, Canada Venn diagram overlap?

littlelordfauntleroy@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 4d

I'm not sure what the diagram you're referring to is, but I can say that being a 'dog cunt' is pretty much the worst thing an Australian can call you. Kyle is most definitely a lad, would drink ciders with him anytime.

BitUnWise@programming.dev · 23 pts · 4d (6 replies)

What happened to the image? the white text on a green background is barely visible

logi@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 4d (2 replies)

JPEG happened. That should always have been a PNG.

Equinox1289@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 4d (1 reply)

JPEG XL will be here soon. The next set of browser releases, so even lossy images won't continually reduce into a blocky mess of sine waves.

brb@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 3d

I feel like that xkcd about standards fits here pretty well

gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 4d (1 reply)
square@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 3d

Sign in to confirm age? For a King of the Hill clip? Fuck Google.

diaphragmwp@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 2d

Yes, as Apple intended. Although it's fake.

mechoman444@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 4d

I like Kyle.

DoubleDongle@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 4d (3 replies)

I am steadily liking Australia more and more over the past decade.

boletus@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 3d (2 replies)

You can't use steam here unless you have a credit card. Most of us don't have credit cards. Already becoming a surveillance state

Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 3d (1 reply)

Can you use gift cards?

boletus@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 2d

To be fair this is for adult content... But that includes cyberpunk and Baldur's gate

undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch · 7 pts · 4d (6 replies)

Is it normal for carriers to text their customers?

TragicNotCute@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 4d

Yes. They text you promotions, when you go somewhere new and different rules are in affect, and you can often get basic support via text as well.

mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 4d

mine texts me once a month or so about promotions or updates on legal stuff in my country

usually that shit pisses me off but it happens so infrequently or is actually good info that I don't mind it

Nihilore@quokk.au · 4 pts · 4d (1 reply)

Did you genuinely look at this image and then assume it was real?

undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch · 4 pts · 4d

What about my comment led you to that conclusion?

I’m more curious if it’s normal in other places to even have people from the carrier just casually texting customers.

OriginalTangle@feddit.org · 2 pts · 4d

It should be. But instead you would get "thank you for getting back to me" oftentimes.

dektep@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 4d

almost daily in Thai 🇹🇭

Areexor@feddit.org · 6 pts · 3d (2 replies)

What's an IOU?

DanVctr@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 3d

Literally, I Owe You.

I don't have this provider but it's probably some type of deferred billing system.

luthis@lemmy.nz · 7 pts · 3d

It gives you $5 credit and you pay it back when you top up next
