Uhhh, you might be marriage counsel or something.

ivanafterall@kbin.social · 6 pts · 2y

Yeah, OP, you should definitely offer marriage counseling services. As a twice-divorced guy, I'd certainly sign up.

Depending on how bad it is, I'd definitely try to pull something like this. Its blunt and funny enough to be a way to start conversation again. It's not really about the money, it's a means to engage. Your character and delivery are key, so it's not a formal attempt, more of a playful attempt.

I hope it helped!

Next step. build her a fort in the living room. Tell her it's just for her, but she may also invite you in to her fort. Give her Fort space, and she may give you Fort company

I'm gonna have to say that this all depends on what you did to piss her off...

Nepenthe@kbin.social · 32 pts · 2y

hasn’t talked to me since Monday.

I would normally interpret "we're not friends" to be joking, but not if it lasts more than a couple minutes. If real, it is the end of the 4th day for OP, going on into the 5th.

Whatever happened, it wasn't something good. Offering someone money to like you probably won't improve one's social standing. Not to say almost a week of the silent treatment bodes well for problem solving, either.

Without knowing the full story, @cRazi_man, maybe the two of you should at least think over seeing someone? A lot of couples see it as a last resort, so they end up waiting til there's basically nothing to save before trying to do something about it. This is...a concern.

Rolando@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

I think it depends on the prior history.

This is a GOOD idea if he frequently told her "I'd give you my last dollar."

This is a BAD idea if his catch-phrase is "they're cheaper than a 10 dollar ho."

capt_wolf@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (4 replies)

That's adorable! I'll be your friend if she won't! Not in a wifely way, more along the lines of some random dude from the states that you can say is your friend!

Man, so I always worried about my parents when I was a kid because they only ever had a couple friends they talked to occasionally, but damn I can see why now! Nobody around here has time to find friends when all we do is work constantly! People just do their thing and go home.

Most of the good friends I had growing up have moved away or just disappeared. If weren't for the internet and traveling abroad, I'd have no friends at all. Heck, the best man at my wedding was my very first follower when I started streaming pre-twitch!

Way easier...

Hobby groups are a good way to go if you've got the time. Least then you've got people who are into the same thing!

I met a lot of good people over the years doing charity work too. Some of them have stayed in touch, one I talk to just about every day!
