I upvote as a marked as read function (:

Sheeple@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I use downvotes for that on YouTube ever since they gutted downvotes lmao

expatriado@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 2y

i quit premium when they did that, i use yt to search for info, and they took a tool i use to sort sources and save time

NorthWestWind@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

So that's why it kept recommending the same videos I have watched? Just because I haven't voted?

Macallan@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

I do the same.

Katana314@lemmy.world · 33 pts · 2y (2 replies)

My favorite is downvoting both sides of a political discussion when both sides have stopped citing interesting arguments/facts, and have devolved to name calling or some variant of “don’t care”.

thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 2y

That's the best! I hardly ever downvote just cause I disagree-- Most of my downvotes are because I think someone is being mean or antagonistic.

EdibleFriend@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

I like just down voting at random.

Octopus1348@thelemmy.club · 24 pts · 2y

I downvoted my own comment.

cosmicrose@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Thank you for the content OP

WashedOver@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 2y

It's not easy posting content as some mods get butt hurt over jokes but all you can do is keep trying I guess?

connaisseur@feddit.de · 19 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Who called me?

Or misinformation.

Cannacheques@slrpnk.net · 3 pts · 2y

Someone called my brother?

Deestan@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

When there is competition for the front page, this is a valid consideration.

xantoxis@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Even if there weren't competition (and there definitely is, spend some time in the New feed if you want to see some really bad posts that don't make it there); I'd still want the best ones on top.

Cannacheques@slrpnk.net · -1 pts · 2y

I believe your head onto something though it sounds very important and secretive so cannot give a meaningful comment

NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y (6 replies)

Isn't this meme getting a little overused?

Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works · 20 pts · 2y (1 reply)

You complain about overused memes on Lemmy. I complain that my butt itches. We are not the same.

NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Haha, very funny.

nailbar@sopuli.xyz · 7 pts · 2y

Maybe, but someone keeps upvoting just because it's content so every cow is milkable on these fertile lands

irmoz@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

It was overused the first time it was used. "We are not the same" is such elitist garbage. I can't believe a meme used for looking down on people and being arrogant has seen such wide use.

b00m@kbin.social · 6 pts · 2y (1 reply)

While I agree that some folk would do anything to see themselves above other people I think you might be missing the irony of the meme

thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 2y

Yeah lol it's almost always ironic-- "You do this thing for some normal reason. I do it for a weird reason that may reveal a salient character flaw."

If somebody did use it to actually self-elevate or gatekeep, that would be pretty cringe. But almost all of the usage I see is ironic.

xantoxis@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

I downvote because "content" is a bullshit word made up by C-suite jackasses to describe a budget line item. I upvote for art I appreciate, questions that are good questions asked in good faith, news and information that are informative. "Content" is only a thing if your job is "gather eyeballs for ad revenue", a phenomenon which can't even exist on Lemmy.

Feathercrown@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

Good content > More content

Candelestine@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (7 replies)

Just gotta keep re-reminding people from time to time. We get a lot of newcomers still, and probably will for the foreseeable future, so some bad habit bleed-over from other internet spaces is pretty inevitable.

And no cunt algorithm to bury content just cause of some fucking cursewords.

WashedOver@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 2y (4 replies)

I suspect it will be deleted though... 😂

Sheeple@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Haven't had that happen yet so

WashedOver@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 2y

I've just started posting threads today and 2 deleted so far so there's hope, just keep holding out!

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 2y

Which is why the Lemmy community is absolute garbage.

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Hopefully.

Fades@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I do this for star trek memes on risa that I don't find funny. Temba, his arms wide; the community must thrive
