I mean in his defense he literally was just an actor (for the most part). He was chosen to fill a role.
I don't say that in defense of Reagan's presidency, but if it wasn't him, it literally would have been somebody else. I think we can see the same in Trump.
Oligarchs don't name themselves king for a reason (with the exception of Bush Sr. and he failed to get reelected). His kid did slightly better, but almost his entire presidency was him just doing what his dad's friends told him to do.
They also don't like to pick people who might fall out of line. Like the fact that Milton Friedman called fucking Nixon a "socialist," and the fact that the end of Nixon marked the beginning of Heritage Foundation, really says a lot.
They wanted total control, and to do that they needed to find somebody who could look into the camera and say his lines without giving it a second thought.
Damn, this dude has seriously been at it basically his whole life. I feel like the headline kind of undercuts that reality. Bc if you just passed by it thinking somebody who has had like 2 well known roles, has decided he's fed up, you would probably think (like I did at first) "yeah, shit happens. burnout can happen to anybody."
Then I realized who he actually is, and it reframed everything. BC anybody that can spend a lifetime in any industry one day publicly announce they just can't keep doing this, makes me want to know what could have changed so drastically in recent years? Its not like this has ever been a laid back industry to go into, but he started early and stuck it out.

Edit:
From the article: "Hoping to find a new, more rewarding passion. Me, my product, and I mentality is not working anymore. I want to try to be of service. No crystal ball.”
At least that's some wholesome shit. Hoping everything works out for him. Also, realized I had forgotten one of the greatest movies of all time:
And there are plenty of restaurants and catering companies that routinely just throw huge amounts of unsold/uneaten food away at the end of each business day.
I figured if anybody had an answer it would be NL 😉
I've only had the privilege of visiting once, but it was like a beautiful dream. Architecture and canals actually designed to keep cities from flooding, a culture of respect for bicyclists, and just the right level of laissez faire without risking public health and safety.
I have to say I'm a bit worried he's banking on receiving unlimited access to an insane level of surveillance data to use in the the $50B digital prison he's building in Louisiana
To defend the honor of the genteel southern noblemen, he snuck up behind him while he was doing his job and giving a speech on equality and beat him senseless like he was IRL WrestleMania, continuing to beat him even after he lost consciousness.
Propaganda has done a really good job somehow convincing people that DEI was about exclusion at the expense of meritocracy rather than inclusion at that expense of nepotism.
Then the people that fall for it are so quick to point out "well why does it seem like there's way less resources to go around?" instead of asking why are so many resources being hoarded by a small group of individuals.
And please don't get me started on darwinism/survival of the fittest BS. As if we didn't realize long ago the "superior bloodlines" of many inbred resource hoarders left them at risk of being taken out by papercuts.
So how do the Monte Burnses of the world survive to such frail old age? RESOURCE HOARDING!!!!
But Anthropic has a code of honor... /s
"Authoritarian states are using AI for surveillance, repression and influence operations today," Klein said. "It's no longer hypothetical."
omg! who could have possibly seen this coming??
good thing the US isn't on this official list of spying governments made by a contractor of the U.S. government.
our government would never spy on its citizens...
This 💯

Same. This song is so fucking raw. Feel it in my bones every time I hear it.
yeah it's intentional.
oligarchs are hoarding the resources and getting people to distract themselves by pointing at each other while they stockpile their bunkers.

the key is very flimsy so don't want to bend/break it, but I can hear/feel something turning inside

Did he go to a Waldorf school? I heard that's a thing. Like they just collectively tried to keep kids from knowing about it.
Needs more data centers
what if I fuck the bike up?
