Most phone cameras use AI image enhancement. I'd need to buy a film camera to take a nude selfie. It's hamfisted overreach into the lives of the general public.
How the fuck is me grabbing a rifle and shooting a fucker I’m sure killed a loved one in the head any less justice than the state deciding to hire a bite mark analyst to frame the person they want to go down for it and making sure someone’s punished so they look strong, then cooking them with a Looney toons gadget or dosing them with torture drugs til they die?
That's what you said.
It's less justice because it's likely to lead to a spiral of violence.
Just because shit's bad doesn't mean it can't be worse.
My issue with a lot of these laws is a lack of this nuance.
And the unspoken idea that they can reasonably know the context. How can the AI bot know if consent was acquired? This is a practical concern, if you require the sufficiently improbable you are essentially banning a thing in all contexts. Even me making a photo of myself.
I don't. I think there isn't enough popular support for a gun ban for success to happen and it would be a pricey boondoggle. Laws that don't have public consensus behind them have a poor track record. Look at prohibition or the war on drugs.
But it would not fail because of the size of the country. That's silly.
Actually, I'm not okay with that. But I'm also not okay with hamfisted laws that would probably criminalize my mom AI up-sampling my old baby pictures.
I believe in what can be seen, heard, tasted. In what can be measured. Truths that have to be taken on faith are the province of carnival hucksters. The moment you can measure karma, I will consider it against the evidence of its lack.
But I do agree that our experience is not different from that of an insect in kind, merely in magnitude.
There are verifiably over 18s in Australia ending up in legal trouble for posting images of themselves already. People don't have rings like a tree. The edge cases are not trivial to work around when someone becomes legal literally overnight.
(That said: personally, I'm not sure it's really moral to be using AI to be making unconsenting nudes of over 18s either...)
I don't know anyone who would be confused by what "child porn" means. I think all this speech purity stuff distracts from the real harms going on. We don't need more "um akchually" energy injected into every political issue.
From what I understand the law applies to adults too.
I'm all for stopping pedophiles, but laws need controlled scope and nuance. Reality is complex and I don't want to see innocent stuff criminalized more than we do already.
Seriously, did you think that the people convinced they're right taking it into their own hands would stop with you? Haven't you seen all those parents and other relatives arguing that their kid/whatever could never have done it? Even after mountains of evidence, let alone after they're just gunned down? Some of them don't even care if they did it!
And once its a social expectation that return violence will come if you retaliate, the logical next step is to wipe out the offending family. Because that's the only way to take revenge and be safe. Shit gets bad fast.
One of the prime benefits of our "justice" system taking over the revenge business is limiting feuds.
It's not possible to live according to the morals of everyone else. They're mutually contradictory with each other for one thing lol. I'm at peace with the idea that other people won't always agree with me.
A Ulefone Armor 34 pro. It's a ridiculous 2lb brick with nightvision, a fucking projector, and 25,500mAh of battery.
But there are a LOT of phones that check off a few less of those those boxes. Reasonable phones with only twice as much battery as any Samsung. GSMArena has a filterable search function, just filter for phones that work with the bands your country/carrier uses. No phone is compatible with all countries networks!
While there is nutrition value to some bugs, most grasses pass undigested through the human gut. We are not ruminants Also if you leave bugs for a chicken to eat, you can have eggs instead.

Yes, that's the point. It was bullshit logic when you used it too.
If I "just learn to draw" I can use it to draw nudes of people from clothed images. Or use photoshop.
Do you think this legislation has the nuance to handle even a distinction that broad? I don't.
It's less justice because it's likely to lead to a spiral of violence.

Feuds are not a mythical beast. They are historical fact.

Nuance. It's needed.
If you want to eat hot food so bad, learn to cook over a fire. Electrical heat is evil for some unspecified reason.

There are a lot of businesses that cost so little to start it may as well be nothing. But you need to eat until they get off the ground.
Because the bad products are claiming to be good. It's a poisoned product category.
A bidet is a safer option, and cheaper in the long term.
Unless you're doing metalwork or something, then you should be wearing a bit more.

You can see most of that on my baby pictures.

That's how you get feuds.

You don't have to have 1 dude do the whole job. You can just use an equal amount of people per capita as smaller countries have.
