My 65" B7 from 2017 is still going strong. No dead oleds. Still feels sufficiently bright in my room.
I've heard newer models are significantly brighter and have "better" HDR but I don't see any need to upgrade any time soon.
I also don't really baby it. I've left roughly still scenes up on the screen for 15 - 60 minutes before it automatically went to sleep and no burn in yet thankfully.
I regularly game on it and no burn in of the static elements of the UI.
I used to ride my 600cc motorcycle with helmet, jacket, and gloves minimum. Also had draggin jeans (sp? Kevlar lined so more protective) and eventually got proper boots and a full leather track suit.
One day after wrenching on it I was feeling lazy and took it for the test ride to make sure everything was good with just the helmet (and a hoodie and regular jeans). Just went around the block, but holy did I feel naked. Any issue or fall and I knew I'd be losing a bunch of skin, even at the low speeds I was doing in my suburban community.
Didn't have any issues but never again.... Minimum jacket, gloves, and helmet to ride.
Oh wow, you just reminded me that this was the beginning of "all day all night all the time news".
Pre 9/11 I don't think it existed (I wasn't really watching the news), but day of, as more and more information came in, they just kept updating when they had new news and reiterating what they had when there wasn't anything new.
I guess but if the production company is the Office of the President of the United States then.... What? Never trust anything they put out again? That helps me I guess but it doesn't help the other two thirds of the country.
To be clear this was Windows, detecting you had an LG display device plugged in, and Windows Update opting to automatically download the latest drivers/software for that LG display.
A lot of people talk about how terrible this is for privacy but personally I completely agree with OP for public videos. The leader of a country (or province/state/city/whatever) is going to give a speech?
I would like to be able to verify it's legitimate and accurate. Because we are already seeing political AI videos of made by the opposition of a candidate saying something they didn't actually say.
Now I actually think any videos badmouthing an opponent shouldn't be allowed. All political videos should be on a given candidate's platform and how that will help the people they represent, and can't discuss the opponent at all, but that's just not how it works right now.
I'll also add I have no idea how that certificate chain can be validated in a way by me that the government can't just up and change something. They control the camera. They control the root cert, I assume. They can issue new certs whenever they want. I have no way of validating the original footage was from that camera with that cert in any way that I can think of. Not to mention another poster called out any editinf software you use will need to re-sign it. But maybe there's a way to take smaller clips from a public speech and still ensure they are signed by a given certificate the larger one was.
Reminds me of frozen gyro I've purchased. Honestly spiced well and tastes good but usually you fry it up to be a bit browned on each side, and then you put a few slices in a pita with tzatziki and onion, cucumber, and tomato.
On its own it's also fine, but basically just a meat / protein at that point.
A flight attendant's primary job is safety of the crew and passengers.
Passenger comfort is secondary.
If for some reason they felt it was better to let them pee in their chair (like on approach to land, the most dangerous part of flying), then they probably had a reason, sadly.
Oh yeah I think it's terrible this guy is imprisoned for not giving up a password, for something they can't prove. Like they shouldn't be able to detain someone indefinitely for an unproven crime. At some point they have to release them or it's guilty until proven innocent.
There's that one guy who is being held in contempt of the court (to be clear this is not the police asking for his password, but a judge in a court of law) because he won't give a password to decrypt a hard drive.
They believe it is highly likely that the drive contains sexually explicit material of children, which is why he's being held in prison until he gives up the password.
I think it's the first time they've done pinball live like that? I was astounded at how good a player he was.
I own the same pinball machine, TNA, and it was awesome to have the creator Scott Danesi on the couch talking with the main couch host, the player's wife.
The device id isn't ever sent to Google or Meta servers. It's created via login data on the windows machine and then sent to Microsoft with other telemetry info to be able to cross reference errors occurring with other telemetry.
At least my old company used to do something similar to track usage of internal tooling (and more importantly to alert us when users were seeing a bunch of unrecognized errors so we could alert and investigate quickly).
That being said why would Google or Meta care about Microsoft's unique identifier? They most definitely have their own they are using to track telemetry data you send them to understand usage patterns and problems.
They are doing a pinball speed run this year that I'm super excited about.
