I had the same issue on my desktop PC with Steam. The issue was that it was unable to determine which GPU to use, so I had to create a shortcut for steam and edit as follows:

[Desktop Entry]
...
// Add the two lines below at the end of this section (omit this comment)
PrefersNonDefaultGPU=false
X-KDE-RunOnDiscreteGpu=true

It seems KDE prefers using the integrated GPU for some reason.

Edit: this only makes sense if your laptop has a discrete GPU, I assumed it because it says you have two of them.

As for the game not running, sometimes it's incompatible with the graphics API used, some engines allow you to override that with a "launch argument" defined from within Steam and force DirectX 11 or Vulkan. I don't know the game so I don't know if it's this.

Good luck!

I guess just because it has always been like that doesn't make it good.

Personally, I think if they allowed installing whichever system you want on the machine you own, it would be leaps ahead. In fact the first xbox I think allowed installing Windows, and they teased Linux in the PS3, but later rolled back? People did it but I don't remember if it ever became anything official.

Pay for multiplayer, well it's justifiable but definitely not for the price they charge, which is why they include all the "other perks".

In any case, if you own a console, enjoy it!

I think it's positive that you had the thought of contributing and trying to watch the series through their platforms. I'm not sure it has been mentioned here but I'd suggest to hit their support channels as well, probably opening a request per individual issue you had (which are plenty).

I believe what others have said: Apple made it frustrating to use outside of their ecosystem to lure you in. Perhaps you're lucky enough to draw the attention of some devs of the platform and they take pity.

Indeed it looks really complex, half way through the video I was already lost.

It's crazy not just that you have to manually pump it yourself, but why does it even have a "camping program" that you have to engage? It does nothing other than revealing the tray with the tent gear. There's so many steps involved, why did they think that was the one that required automating?
