My parents were early adopters of digital photos, but also took a bunch on film and have scanned them. We have something around 20,000 photos. My parents display them on a screen in the living room and it's awesome. We're often mesmerized for dozens of minutes just watching and talking about the memories, and it's a great way to connect with my parents now that we're all adults, and really see the work they put in to give us a magical childhood. Before the physical photos were digitized we rarely flipped through the books if it wasn't for a school project or something

Fully agree. This is why I've made multiple children. Then I train them on the binary digits the way other parents teach shapes, numbers, and the ABCs. Can't be too careful, it's best to have multiple backups

You actually can influence how full a person feels after a set amount of food based on how big or small the plate is on which the food was served.

The addictive qualities of ultra processed foods at the same time as the diminishing nutrition of processed and unprocessed foods alike is obviously so much more of a contributing factor, but isn't it nuts that plates can also have a measurable effect?

When you're getting paid per job (by a landlord) you don't waste time removing doors. There's no "pride in your work" either. The AC doesn't get turned on until next week. Sometimes the water doesn't either, so every extra minute there sucks.

You also just follow whatever the last guy did. If I'm first, I cut in fixtures. It's just as fast as covering them in paint.

That's why she waited until arriving to drink? And then presumably the date lasts a few hours over which she sobers up?

I guess it's overall satisfaction. Joy is yesterday, cuddling in bed with my spouse and toddler, and toddler reaches up and pats us each on the cheek, smiling ear to ear, so happy we're all together watching the movie they wants to watch. A joy explosion. But if we spent all day in bed, that wouldn't make me happy. So I guess we need the harder stuff so those joy explosions feel so high. So a balance with those joy moments a few times a day is peak happiness

Idk if you're a man or a woman, but that's a wild take. I've definitely heard men nitpick a woman's appearance, including chipped nail polish, but above all about weight, which is a big part of the original post.

In my experience, women are more likely to talk trash about things easily changed: judging someone for clothes that don't fit well or makeup that's poorly applied, whereas men will trash women for body type, weight gain, and aging.

And if you think a man is dangerous to a beautiful woman who rejects them, you don't want to meet a man who is mad a woman "below" him has rejected him. That can be violent.
