Out of curiosity, what's noctalia/umbriels takes on ai?

We don’t have any takes, of course we won’t accept vibecoded slop but we’re not against people getting help from LlM

That's from their Discord. Lysec is one of the main developers of Noctalia Team.

If the lamp casts shadows, and if there are things light reflections, those costs extra processing power, and thus the lights actually does use real electricity.

Well, technically, Nintendo's first party games hold there their price because Nintendo never lowers or discounts their games. I recently looked at Deku Deals (a price tracking website for games across all platforms), and none of the Nintendo's first party games on the eShop I looked at had any discounts since late 2024. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo Switch release title, 2017) originally released at €70 is still sold at €70, and last discount at eShop was summer 2024.

We were all whoo after completing the game, but now we can again be whee.

While this is definitely good news, it's also two years old news. EUSP has been taken in use in France since last year, and this year it expanded to Germany.

PS: In case some of you have used/tried Ecosia, and have been annoyed by the existence of the AI button, you can now disable it in the settings.

What gave Linux a boost.

My guess is summer. Perhaps people waited until they have more time to switch from Windows to Linux. And holiday means less work computers – which are all Windows machines – being used.

Cloudflare Radar also shows a sudden jump from 3.5% to 5.5% from June 15 to June 29. It has since come down to 3.9%, which is still about 0.6 percent points higher than previous average.

Brütal Legend

Released in 2013. I've had it in my Steam library for long enough that I don't even remember where I got it from. Probably from some Humble Bundle. Anyway, I figured it was just some cheap game with heavy metal theme as a gimmick, and never bothered to even install it.

I bought a Steam Deck a couple of years ago, and figured I'd play less demanding games on it. Looked in my Steam library for games I've never played, and there's Brütal Legend. Turns out, it's actually a pretty solid game. Sure it has some issues, but overall it's a humorous action game that's full of heavy metal references, and even has some unique game mechanics to boot. And, not only is there licensed music from a number of metal bands, but some of the metal legends, such as Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy Kilmister, appear in the game.

The graphics are a bit outdated by today's standards, and the RTS sections can be a bit janky. But I didn't mind those, the rest is too good.

If you are a metalhead, definitely pick this game up. Or if you like comedy or unique games. It's currently only €3 on Steam, and even has a native Linux build.
