Better to have those in reserve, ready to be deployed. Make the other side worry that you could use them, and use that strength to aid in negotiations. Treat them as actual nuclear weapons. As a deterrent.
The staff are already being paid to do other tasks. This would be an added responsibility, on top of the current responsibilities of their job role. So that would either take away from those original responsibilities, or add more paid hours to complete the new responsibilities. It could also mean they have to hire new staff, or bring in temporary staff to manage the responsibilities, should the other staff be unable to.
We are getting into the realm of possibility here, since we don't know the full cost or scope.
I'd stop talking to the contractors saying to only replace the asphalt, and talk to the ones saying they'd fix or refill the foundation. You'll have to see what's under the driveway to know how to fix it.
When I replaced my driveway, there was only sand under the asphalt. So that got replaced with proper crushed stone infill. It's been about 4 years and I've seen no problems.
After it has been replaced, make sure you seal it with a good asphalt sealant. This will protect it from the freeze and thaw during winter by stopping the water from getting into the asphalt and wrecking it over time. It will have to be resealed again after a few years, but the length of time depends on the quality of sealant you use. This will greatly extend the life of your driveway, especially in a place that sees freezing temperatures, so it's worth the effort.
Asphalt sealant isn't too expensive either, and you get a good amount of coverage out of a 5 gallon pail. Just know that the first time you seal it it will absorb a lot more sealant as you fill all the little spaces in the asphalt. A wide floor squeegee is the easiest method for spreading the sealant.
Mint is meant for beginners and folk who just want an OS, not a hobby.
Another to check out is ZorinOS. Same deal as Mint, but looks wise is closer to modern Windows and is also designed to make it very easy to run windows programs in Linux.

This sounds like burnout. You've been pushing for so long that when you have time to relax you can't remember how. You keep expecting a new task, or another request.
Finding a hobby you enjoy, or picking back up a hobby you used to do before the kids and responsibilities, is your long term goal here. With the kids almost out on their own, you are going to hit Empty Nest syndrome hard.
But before that, you should start small. Ease your way back to finding fulfillment. The next time you find time for yourself, try going for a short walk around the neighbourhood. Try going to a park, lay back and watch the clouds. Just be, for a while, without any expectations or responsibilities.
Your mind will fight this and try to keep racing, and planning, and worrying. But you have to keep trying to give yourself the time to relax.
I'll also suggest you look into guided meditation. It can help you learn how to give yourself, and your mind, a break. Like our bodies, the mind can also use a break from activity.

Sounds like you have a nice project ahead of you to rerip all your CDs to FLAC, and then convert to Opus for your devices.
