I'm in a similar boat as you, as an M365, Azure, etc. Consultant, where most of the people I work with are CIOs, other IT people, and like, director level and above.

Even in those cohorts where you would think intelligence is generally above average you get a few.

I started out in help desk though, and occasionally run training classes. They're at all levels.

"we need to put together a committee so we can write a tweet that condemns, blasts, and slams, and then we vote to give more money to the private company for security because someone keeps blowing up their level fortresses."

Came here to say this. Be a contractor, become over-employed, and once you matter certain things, get an apprentice and train them before learning new skills.
