The thing is: We are not doing that on any other skill-based competitive thing (sports or similar), even though you could largely make the same argument there. Of course any game like this will want to be respectful to its most dedicated players instead of pissing them off.

Honestly, wanting to insult the best players mostly just comes across salty, as if by someone who is annoyed that they are not particularly good (which is fine) and mad about it (which indicates that YOU are the one taking this too seriously). Back in the day playing through the Maw on Legendary in Halo CE was something that was respect if you managed to do it, but nobody really looked down on others for not doing so…

Someone on Vaush’s youtube-channel made this lovely comment:

Inflation has gotten so insane that 60 million can't even buy an election anymore.

Okay, there is a lot to unpack here, and I kinda wanted to buy groceries now, so I'll make it quick.

but I was under the impression that which treatment a trans person needed was not reliably the one for a particular sex. That is to say, depending on what was troubling you, you might need either the male or the female version, or potentially even a secret third thing.

Yes, I was speaking generally about general tendencies in the simple case of binary trans people going through the typical “full” program. There are a lot of nuances, especially among nonbinary people, where this becomes more murky. But it's worth noting that the same holds for binary cis people, things are far from simple there either: As I wrote, sex is a bimodal distribution and if you assign people to the peak they are closer to, what I wrote will be a reasonable first approximation.

That said, I wouldn't consider that to be what makes you a woman.

That is a fair approach, I recently understood that I have kinda always rejected the notion of social gender roles on a pretty fundamental level, making it far more about outward biological characteristics more relevant.

So: “Yes, but…”

To me, "biological woman" is like "biological fish"; there is no set of biological characteristics that can determine with 100% accuracy whether a given animal fits into that group.

Yes. you always have a grey zone, but that notably doesn't invalidate the concept of a fish, it just means that we have to be aware that not everything fits perfectly.

And we are losing.

No, we are not! Don't let the shitty trends in some places get to you, don't take the black pill. Even if it may take some time, culture is moving in our favor. You can nowadays just be an out and proud trans person, and live a pretty normal live. That would have been almost unthinkable 20 years ago. Everyone has at least some idea of what trans people are, and you basically cannot be a broadly respected person, especially within educated and urban circles, if you are hateful. Kids nowadays have early access to information of what it means to be trans and role-models.

Yes, there are setbacks, losses, pain, and many lost battles. But there is no way for them to win this war. After all is said and done victory for us may take time but is ultimately inevitable. Don't loose sight of that and don't loose hope!

Oh, those terms exist and can even have reasonable meaning, just not the one the transphobes think they do:

I am a biological woman: My metabolism runs on estrogen, my T is basically nothing, I have breasts and at some point in the future I'll even have a vagina. If I am to receive sex-dependent medical treatment I have to receive the female version, because that is just how my body works now.

What I'm saying is that the term can be useful in certain contexts, but the dividing line is not cis/trans but if anything what someone's hormones are doing, assuming that it even aligns with what is typical for one of the two peaks in a bimodal distribution (meaning that there are very much people who can easily be classified as “neither”).

But unless you are a biologist or directly engaging in medical treatment or research, it is just not a relevant thing.

We have to employ someone that does want to kill people, and we're paying them to do it.

Honestly: While it may feel wrong, and requires some emotional distancing, if you start thinking about it rationally you’ll find that there isn’t really a fundamental problem with this one. Note that you gave an argument why the first case is bad but not for the second.

If we think things through, the main issue we have with killing is that people whom we don’t want to die die; [while I reject capital punishment in the vast majority of cases](https://fiona.onl/positions.html#no-death-penalty-for-individual-crime), the assumption here is that we have made a decision that we want someone to die, so causing that person to die is within the deployed ethical framework not unethical.

And if there is someone who wants to perform an act that is usually highly unethical, but in some instances is, according to the accepted ethical framework, not, then there isn’t really a clear issue to let that person do that thing in those cases, especially if others don’t want to do it.

The issue here is the framework in which the death penalty is a commonly available punishment itself, not that some things feel wrong within that framework.

Okay but, I’m highly autistic

Then you’ll fit right in with all the trans girls you may or may not meet there. (Like, seriously, those without autism have ADHD, you can count on that. And no, I’m actually not joking!)
