What killed Commodore was chip fabrication. While it was great strategy at first to do it all in-house, later they were unable to out R&D the rest of the chip fab world and the rise of cheap ibm-pc clones, as well as poor business planning and debt. Commodore was rudderless after it's founder dipped out.

I was totally bummed out by the fall of Commodore, loved my Amigas.

I remember being in beta phase 3, was the most awesome experience coming out of Halas with my brother and into Everfrost for the first time. Seeing the zone open up, seemed so vast at the time. Back then there was nothing else like it.
