I guess they were being a big disingenuous with the house price then. Normally when house price is listed, that is purchasing a home, not building one. Building will always be more expensive, so it makes sense that building a house back then might be six figures, but you could easily find a house for sale under $70-80K in 1990.
This person was living in a very expensive area. In 2015, you were able to find rent for $450, it would've been less in 1990. That also must've been a huge house in 1990, because even in 2000, you could find a 3 bedroom house for closer to 70-80K in a city.
Why? dd/mm/yyyy isnt practical. If you are asking someone to check out part of a book, you wouldn't say "paragraph 4, chapter 3", you start broad and become more specific. Calendars, at least in the US, are organized by month. You have turn turn to the month page before finding the date, it makes more sense to say month first because its the first piece of information that you need (unless its a more rare case that you are talking about an event in another year).
Im sure programmers prefer something different, but humans shouldn't have to communicate differently to make computing easier. Computing exists to make human life easier, not the other way around.
I understand they might be frustrated, but why would you say that we dont have long range precision missiles to hit you with if you attacked the US right now?
Or its because it was a family recipe passed down and making the recipe reminds you of all the special times you spent with family and want to share the origins of that family tradition, rather than just sharing your grandma's secret recipe.
Not on PS4, but PS5 is much louder. They programmed the PS5 so that the startup sounds and music must be played through the TV, even if headphones are plugged in and settings are set to push all audio throigh headphones
Its not the job of USPS to determine whether a ballot is valid or not. That's the job of the election officials. Any ballot sent and not delivered should lead to criminal punishment. The job of the USPS is to deliver the ballot. They dont verify the validity of any other letter or package sent, the ballots should be no different.
Toy Story 5 had the second-highest grossing opening weekend for an animated film with $160 million domestically. It looks like Toy Story 5 will make at least $420 million domestically and has already made $879 worldwide. The estimated cost of the film is $200 million.
People go to the movies to see things they want to see. If they are only marginally excited to see a movie, they'll just watch at home. Great movies have just been in short supply recently between covid and the way studios were treating cast members.
That said, I'm sure Disney has accounted for flops, especially given how poorly many of their live actions have performed. I'm sure they see a bump in ticket sales for their parks after a big movie is released and theres a ton of merchandise between popcorn buckets, pins, and recycling some of the older merch from around the original release.
To be fair the same argument could be used for the ps5. There wasnt that much of a difference, except the ps5 is louder at startup. Ps4 was just a beep and all software sounds could play through headphones, while PS5 muted the beep but forces the startup and login screen sounds to be played through the TV speakers even when set to play all sounds through a headset.
Some loading screens are a couple seconds faster, but that's also diminishing returns. Its not like ps4 loading times were similar to ps2, where some games could take more than 5 minutes per loading screen when moving to a different area or level.
And that is more than double minimum wage in the US ($7.25/hour)!
Wow, when I lived there, it was $700 just to rent a room in someone else's house

In English, grapes are green or red.
Wine is not a grape. White wine and red wine refers to the color of the wine. Nobody calls vodka golden because it came from a potato.
Nebraska furniture mart has cheap furniture. I think its a little step above ikea in terms of quality as well.
Not to mention how few bugs there are anymore. You dont even have to clean off your windshield after an 8 hour drive anymore

This has been common practice in schools for several years now. Students are well aware of this tactic.
Im surprised that some students were caught off guard, because anyone in Dark mode can easily see the white font.

Not to mention that the animated Moana is still active with Moana 2 released around Thanksgiving 2024.
But the pizza was stolen from the store down the street
Seems petty on the surface, but doesnt that leave the democrats able to apply for unemployment, while the Republicans can't because they resigned?
Santa really needed the work!
