It is kinda shallow compared to Skyrim though. A lot of mechanics are there just to use it once or twice (while struggling with controls) and then forget about it. The story is also abysmal and feels like one big AI hallucination.
Say whatever you like, blame whatever you want, but it actually does look like it's an attempt to ride on the original brand's popularity. It's obviously easy to assume that the two are related.
Though I actually do work for a Japanese company, but I love it. Maybe I'm lucky, or maybe not all Japanese companies are as scary as people picture them.
I'm 0% Japanese and can say that so far, aside from some annoying paperwork, it's a bliss compared to the countries I used to live in before. Maybe the difference is that I didn't expect people to truly love me behind their smiles and politeness. Just being friendly (as it is in 99% of cases here for me) is enough, and way above my experience in Europe when people jumped to being rude and sometimes hostile right after hearing my accent after trying to speak local language.
