I do think that they are perfectly capable of smear campaign, but you have to acknowledge that oss privacy community people are very critical and fast to point out any potential risks and thus label the whole service as bad. I can literally see that massage is not even delivered. If I see the delivery mark, then yes, the notification always appears. Then frim that point is person fault, but not when the message seem to not even reach the other. (Mind the phone is online and other apps deliver)
I think it might have solved it for me as well, but its not guaranteed for every phone in my experience. But it's still annoying, that this is something that I then need to explain to others to do the same. The added friction just turns avg person away quickly.
Also i wonder since the diameter is larger, is this effectively like putting everything in a higher orbit which is also more difficult then if it was just twice as dense.
