My smaller rugs, specifically the runner ones that are like 2 ft wide and 8 ft long-ish I fold in half hot dog style and then roll them up and throw in the laundry machine. I run the sanitize cycle with enough soap for a heavily dirty item, if you're using your standard high efficiency soap in a standard high efficiency front loading washer like me I use something close to 5 tablespoons split between two washes, 2 on pre-wash 3 on the main, I also add full scoops of borax and oxygen bleach to each wash cycle. Then extra rinse at the end. The sanitize cycle should have the hottest water with the most intense wash cycle and the most intense spin cycle. For the little runner rugs I do this 3 to 4 times a year.
As for my large rugs, I have tried different carpet cleaning machines over the years but I find that I spend so much time and effort and soap and water trying to clean them and they never feel actually clean. What I ended up trying was I found a laundromat in my city that has the super duper extra huge mega washers. The way people measure washers is weird but the ones I used said they could handle 100 lb worth of clothes. There was one that I liked but they added their own predispensed soap and fabric softener which I don't like and doesn't wash out thoroughly enough so I found one that allowed me to bring and use my own soap. These machines cost about $20 per wash but even for my 8-ft by 12 ft rugs they fit. You can then throw them in their huge mungus tumble dryers, though I suggest standing in front of the dryers to keep the doors from popping open unless they have a solid lock on the dryer door. I would dry on low just so you don't accidentally melt anything.
Because of the expense and the hassle I probably only do this one to two times a year and have my robot vacuum/ mop go around every day to make it last as long as possible.
Word of caution, I only use quite low pile rugs because I had a very long pile of rug that I took to the laundromat once and it ended up disintegrating and leaving a big old mess behind. I ruined to the rug and put the laundry machine out of commission for the day so it could be deep cleaned. I felt very bad about it so I warned you in advance if you have very long pile rugs I'm so sorry your best bet is probably to take them outside and beat them. When I say long I mean like these were 3 in Long fibers, very very fluffy.
Yep, it's a Samsung something or another that I used a third party app to work with my pixel. The other people are right it's a Bluetooth tracker and it has a pretty limited range and also it's pretty bad at telling me where it is so all I can tell is it's not in my yard and it's not in her front yard.
Lol one of my cat's collars is currently in a neighbors yard and I need to ask if I can search for it tomorrow. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you do what you gotta do.
As a tip, it's good policy to give pictures and a bit about your cat before asking for help. Being apologetic for asking also helps I think. No one wants their cute cat pictures feed to become just people begging for handouts. Make the posts about the cat with the ask at the end with an apology. Give cat tax first, ask for help after.
Sorry you're getting downvoted, I know how expensive pet care can be. In that vein I highly recommend getting pet health insurance. It's not perfect, just like human health insurance isn't perfect. They'll try to deny things they should cover and you have to fight them to get them to pay for it but it would help cover a lot of the costs for things like this. It won't help after the fact because unlike humans they are not required to cover pre-existing conditions, pet health insurance is still under pre Obamacare terms unfortunately. I'll send what I can but I unfortunately know how expensive pet care can be because I just lost my sweet boy to cancer this year and spent 20 thousand trying to save him. Learn from my experience and your own experience and get your pets insured before they get sick so that the coverage is there when you need it.
At Costco you can buy the big 3 lb bag of in-shell pistachios for 19.99 or the one and a half pound bag of pre-shelled pistachios for 20.99, implying that the pre-shell the pistachios are just over twice as expensive.
HOWEVER!!! I, the crazy persistent stubborn AuDHD person that I am, decided that I wanted to know for sure just how much better a deal the 3 lb in shell bag was, SO I SHELLED ALL THREE LBS IN ONE SITTING, EATING NONE UNTIL I WAS FINISHED!!! Crazy? Maybe. But I learned THE TRUTH which is that when you weigh the pistachios alone without the shell you get ALMOST EXACTLY one and a half lbs of nuts!
Also, sometimes the nuts were bad inside the shell, I got probably a quarter cup of pistachios that were the dark nasty looking bitter ones out of the whole bag. That's not many but I feel like I get fewer than that when I get the pre-shelled ones.
IN CONCLUSION!!!: when you buy the 3 lb bag all you are doing is paying for the privilege of shelling your own pistachios! You do not get any more nuts!!! If you like the salt and pepper nuts you still have to buy the ones in Shell, if the point for you is to have something that you have to open and eat slowly so you can have a snack that takes you a long time but isn't double fisting handfuls of nuts into your mouth all at once, that's fine, do you do you and go in peace.
But!!! if you just wanted the nuts and you do not give a shit about the shell and you were buying the in shell ones because you thought they were cheaper, I SET YOU FREE!!!!!
I know, my family has a genetic disorder and two of my three sisters can't work and I know exactly how painful it is for them to feel useless, I have the same disorder and I'm staring down the barrel of my body and telling me I can't work anymore and it's terrifying. I also talk to people all the time who believe that socialism can't work because everyone just wants to be lazy and I use the same argument that people want to be productive, they want to be useful to society. But I feel like there's a big difference between people being able to do what they're passionate about because it's beneficial to society and people answering customer service questions for corporate profit. XD basically I agree with your point, I just dislike exploitation and it feels to me like using this technology to enable people to do more with bodies that couldn't before, only to be able to re-enter this wage slavery market so they can help produce corporate profits... does not feel like the win I wish the technology was. Does that make sense? It's early for me, I hope it makes sense.
Cool tech, shame that the point of the tech is to make people "productive" again instead of to increase their quality of life. Wishing cool innovation wasn't tied to profit, but to the expansion of humanity's freedom overall.
