Yeah Valheim body runs can be insane if you didn't get portal down or it was destroyed in whatever killed you (goddamn Ashlands!)

At least the settings allow reducing it to just loose inventory dropped on death (all equipped gear is kept).

I could see it being fun if you're playing with a friend or two though.

I haven't tried the update yet, but based on the patch notes I skimmed through, there isn't any new world modifiers like that and no spawn balancing for the early areas.

I am planning to test out a new game tonight, I'll update if anything seems different.

Personally I would also love to see a boss HP slider for the world settings, some of the later bosses feel like massive sponges when playing solo.

The CGI is of course dated at this point, especially the space battle stuff. Characters are largely practical though, so they look fine still.

Otherwise IMO the first season starts a little slow and there's a ton exposition heavy stuff early to introduce the world. It does pick up soon though and it avoids the returning to status quo after episode quite well. Pretty much every episode moves some of the bigger background plots forward

I use two To-Do lists, one is an app and one is good old fashioned paper. I know exactly where these are, so it works reasonably well.

I do still struggle actually writing things down on them though.

IMO their algorithm is ass. The front page is always all plastic titties and shitty step-porn and I actively click "not interested' on those.

Subscribing to channels/creators is useful enough to warrant creating an account though. I do wish the subs page wasn't so limited

Physical releases cost a fair bit to make, from just printing the media and designing the package and so on. And then there's storing and shipping the game around the world so people could actually buy it.

Shipping could be out sourced to the customer easily enough (some kind of direct to customer sales model), but the rest is still a good chunk of extra cost for the publisher. Manufacturing like this also typically has to be paid in advance, so harder for smaller publishers and Indies to get it done in the first place.

I don't think we will see a comeback of physical releases for PC other than as a collector items, it just doesn't make sense for normal releases at this point.

I would have guessed the one on the right as Noki (soot in Finnish).

Nice to see them getting along well enough to share the chair.

Pirating VHS casettes was very common, but I think that pretty much died with the VHS format. Music CDs got ripped a fair bit until car stereos were able to play mp3 format from CDs and later USBs.

I don't think rental DVD ripping was ever common, torrents were already popular by that time and it was easier (and often less issues with quality and formats) to just download already encoded movies.

Yeah the good old Hema. There's now "adversary" version of it in the game that you can get in an hour or two. it's significantly stronger than the original, but I believe the original Hema research has not changed. Warframe is full of silliness like that, and to some extent I think it's fine. It creates stories and gives the player base something to bitch about together.
