Oh didn't catch that there was amemory upgrade, that does make it better. The 4 core one should be 25-30% of 2016 flagship phone performance and 12% of rpi 5.

I wonder if low powered x86 would be viable

It's not the libre hardware tax that bothers me, it's that there's no smartphone with specs this low released since 2022. What I think about when I hear 'handheld computer' isn't something weaker than a midrange phone from 2016.

With these specs the company needs to explain why they aren't offering more powerful options imo.

It's wild to me that 'enthusiast' devices in 2026 use 4gb of ram and 4xA53 or 6xA55 processors. Meanwhile similarly priced phones have 8gb ram, 2xA78+6xA55 processors, high refresh rate displays and all the other things a phone might have that this doesn't.

I know that most big soc manufacturers don't have open firmwares, but this isn't even using a moderately powerful Rockchip soc.

Such a weird thing that Apple keeps putting cutting edge top end processors in their simplest devices used by non-techy people while tech gadgets like this have old af low end processors

Tbh that's exactly how comics crossovers are written too. There's a vague plot they all follow but it's obvious that the various writers didn't know what exactly happens in each other's issues until after it's too late.

I read the "Atlantis Attacks" event recently, where the bad guy wants to revive the evil god Set. His plan is to get Atlantis and the surface into a war and use the blood sacrifice to revive Set.

So naturally, he spends the first couple issues making a giant serpent crown, turning random people into snake people and collecting 7 brides for Set.

He eventually gets Atlantis to attack the surface, hoping that they will be killed or the surface will retaliate and destroy Atlantis.

Next issue, rather than waiting for the outcome of the battle he summons a sea monster to destroy Atlantis, its blood poisons the waters and he decides that the decimation of Atlanteans is enough for the sacrifice.

Next issue, he decides he needs to genocide them and nukes Atlantis.

Next issue, he announces that without the blood sacrifice his original plans are ruined. Regardless, turns out some gizmos and the power of one of the seven brides is enough to revive Set.

Next issue Set is defeated and torn into 7 pieces by Thor and Dr Strange.

But he has 7 brides and a giant serpent crown which are apparently also the ingredients needed to reunite the pieces of Set. Needless to say, he gets defeated for good before that happens..

I just checked and it's possible for audio interruption notifications to ignore other audio sources but not calls or notifications without the call permission. The game could be smart about it and assume interruptions that last more than 2 seconds are calls. There would be a delay but I think that'd be fine.

Anyways, pretty sure the grand majority of the apps that used to ask the call permission wanted it to look up the imei.
