When I lifeguarded we were taught to protect ourselves as well. Not just approach cautiously but physically keep people from drowning you and be able to stay out if reach when necessary.
When I was in my early 30's I found a discarded RC crawler in the dumpster behind my apartment. I'll tell you that was the best find ever. Hours of entertainment. I'm in my 50's now...I think i need a new one.
1.25L stainless with a stainless/plastic lid. I use it a lot. Carry it everywhere. It's dented and has stickers. Big drawback is where the lid seals there is a rubber gasket. That gasket is impossible to clean and molds over time. You can't buy a new one. You have to purchase an entire new lid.

Go to a restaurant supply store. They'll have a stock pot that large.
I grow enough tomatoes for our family of five for the year. Tomatoes,sauce, salsa, tomato paste...we do it all.
