From the little I read, it's bankrupt because people have boycotted it since the name change, and now Trump is saying that the only way to save it is to change the name so he can do a fundraiser (makes no sense). Just a complete load of shit, total scam, nothing more.
Both of your stories are interesting but are only anecdotes at the end of the day. What's important is that this is banning a religious practice because you dislike or don't agree with it. That's a road we shouldn't go down. We have countless examples throughout history and in our present day of heavy handed approaches to enforcing cultural and religious unity, and most people who are not authoritarians agree that this is a bad thing to do.
Democrats i.e. centrists seem to be dead set on throwing gender issues such as trans rights under the bus right now. I'm not even sure what they stand for anymore.
