The School Resource Officer programs are a different animal. A good, effective SRO is a community member of the school. He or she is there to partner with kids, teachers, administrators, and parents. They are there to prevent, de-escalate, and deter. The ones that are good at building rapport with the kids are effective at identifying kids in danger, in trouble, or on a pathway to violence.
And in the good school systems, the SROs are integral parts of the Behavioral Threat Assessment Teams, making sure that any indicators of violent intent is taken seriously and assessed by a multidisciplinary team following a clinically validated process.
In a lot of instances, SROs are old-timers awaiting retirement, rookies that think every kid is part of a crime syndicate, a road cop that got stuck on a rotation that couldn't give a shit, or something else besides a decent human being. But in many cases, even some of the shitty ones have intervened and stopped active assailants. And that's a sad reality.
In the southern half, maybe. The southeast, more likely. The northern half - don't count on it. Looking at the polling I'll be gobsmacked if he wins any jurisdictions above a line from grand rapids to Saginaw. And there'll be a lot of red on that map below that too.
Yes, I know land doesn't vote, but there's a lot of combined votes to offset with diminishing populations and plenty of voter suppression in the big SE cities.
Good to know - thanks for pointing that out. On my version, if I were to simply shut down my phone, it requires a pin to start - no biometrics - and (iirc) the data contained within is encrypted until the pin is entered. So the smart play would be to simply shut it off, giben the opportunity?

Yeah, as much as it's warranted and deserved, finding a willing contingent of NYPD cops to attempt to stop, be able to get past his US and Israeli security details, and actually take him into custody would be pretty incredible.

They focus on 'militia' and infer that since the founders understood 'militia' to mean any able-bodied (white, free, man) that would answer the call to defend the territory, that same must hold true today. They also take "well regulated" to mean 'hunter's safety', 'handgun registration', 'serial numbers', and 'hunting licenses'.

They're full suite surveillance systems that'll capture every ID passing by. Your list of remembered wifi connections in your phone is a trackable fingerprint, and unless you take steps, it's being broadcast every time you turn on wifi.
