If you read the article the title quickly becomes click bait nonsense. The lake was dug in the 1800s, the previous owner collected swords & they think it could have been from a Victorian era marching band. Or from WW2 troops that were stationed there. Or anything but excalibur really!

We just don't know the reason so can never be sure what's actually better. So maybe not. Maybe something bad happened as a one off, maybe it was school bullying & nothing to do with the parents.

As I suggested, some police depts. will handle it better than others, so there's a risk that it's not the best option. But that doesn't mean it'll always be the worse one.

So would it be better to just leave them alone to become permanently homeless? Depending on the country, even the state or charity orphanage may not be better than going home. There's a tiine of variables we don't know.

How to you propose someone 'directly' helps btw? Adopt them on the spot?! Ask them what they want? (This won't necessarily be the best thing for them). Also bear in mind that the op had said they'd just taken mushrooms... A scared homeless kid having two drugged up strangers talking to them, that's not going to be bad at all is it?!

Anyhow, it's all wild speculation. All anyone can do is make as best a decision for the moment.

The lift stops on one level randomly, halfway through the episode, Odo outside the door, looks at them suspiciously/disapprovingly before the door closes and they move on...

For trying to find a runaway girl a safe place to sleep & not get sucked in to homelessness or worse? The police may not be the best option, depending on who comes out & where they live, but arguably better than nothing. You can't second guess why they ran away, but shitting on someone for trying to help with a single word response...good job keyboard warrior.

Ahhh nice, was going to say 'of 9' but that's a smart play on words!

So what you do is, ignore the supposed answers and and write 25% next to them.

Problem solved!

How about - use an offcut that the body sits in at an angle such that the fin-body join is horizontal - the fin being in the clamp. Apply pressure with a weight on top and use masking tape to hold loosely together?

Ah well I didn't assume anything, hence why I said 'if'. There's a large portion of Americans on Lemmy & my point was about how imported media is not a full representation. That said it is a moot point given your reply! (And I didn't notice the spelling, too tired at the time!).

I see what you mean re the crudeness, & therefore why other nationalities may not take to it. Humour can be very different in other parts of the world!

On the basis of what?! Yes both aspects exist in British comedy, but there's plenty of depth too. If you're American, I can say that I'd take anything British over US comedy given what we get of that here! If you only get some of our stuff then you're not getting the full range (& vice versa).
