Yeah my comment is meandering a bit. Maybe a more succinct way would be to say: this so called market is a private firm and it's in their own interest to not divulge the whole picture.

You're absolutely right about complex systems always leaking info through unintended sidechannels, but I would argue that is information not available to everyone on the "market" at the same time, thus skewing the market (and again benefitting the owners of the market more than anyone).

Well depends on the definition of public.. When Peter Thiel invests heavily in a platform like polymarket all it does is tell him if his political power is showing. Everything else is breadcrumbs we are allowed to see....

Much like with similar markets, robinhood comes to mind, I suspect this is of similar cloth (hugely profitable to the insiders, sometimes profitable to the outsiders and the public ""findings"" get massaged by their marketing department.

KRISTI NOEM, Homeland Security Secretary: “I was in Portland yesterday and had the chance to visit with the governor of Oregon, and also the mayor there in town, and they are absolutely covering up the terrorism that is hitting their streets.”

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

When a group of Dark Triad Individuals takes down a democracy this needs to be called something more than gaslighting. Gaslighting does not feel enourmous enough for what they are doing.

Logical and sad the remaining publications fall in step with government policy. But since they are comercial endeavours first, I doubt they have much choice but to deny reality if they want to live.

I mean the known messages listed in the article were

“Stephen Miller is destroying democracy,” “stop the kidnapping,” "we 🤍 immigrants,” “hate has no home in Arlington,” “no white nationalism,” “trans rights are human rights”

Also:

She [Millers Wife] subsequently posted a photo of “DEI enriches us all” written in chalk on a sidewalk, labeling it “the rallying cry of the losers of the Left.”

This sounds so much like Satire. Coming from a real person this sounds so delusional, it makes my schizophrenic ex more coherent during one of their episodes.

Also the house flipping angle (we want a Meeeellion Dollars more than what we paid for two years ago) makes this story even more absurd.

plus it's their CEO, or their community manager in their name, directly addressing the questioner and going "you don't understand, under our big tent approach only 5% of people we give money to are controversial, let's not address your concerns and move on."

While I agree in principle, the response from the CEO, was: only like 5% of people we give money to are racist Nazi bigots "controversial", let's agree to disagree and move on.

Which is massive narcissitic, non-empathic behaviour. It's giving me less "you don't matter because soon you'll be dead"-vibes and more "I am literally unable to understand your concerns and empathise with you"-vibe, which to me personally is much more damning.
