Sure, but thats mostly because we just have an absurd number of bars. Basically everyone has or had a drinking problem, largely because theres not much to do that doesn’t involve alcohol.

Depends if I like whomever made it.. if a friend made it for me I’d get the go-ahead to set it in resin to keep it and ask them for another cookie of regular decoration, cuz that would take a lot of effort and stuff.

If it was made by some rando or a genie or something, meh cookie is cookie even if it is ugly.

The row of milks on the far left in the cart don’t have caps, and thats plenty for me to agree :)

Edit: the giant box for one pair of rubber gloves is pretty damned sus as well. Mostly because I’ve never seen rubber gloves in boxes like that. (disposable latex or nitrile gloves are sold that way but 10+/box) they are usually sold in clear plastic bags or loose and hanging like gardening or work gloves.

And either the sponges are different sizes or theres just a tiny bit of each one that isn't scrub pad. You can see a thin yellow stripe, and they could be packed on their side as a result (tho the furthest one has a yellow stripe above the green which isn't possible in that sideways configuration), but in that case they aren't cut the same size and are umm very long sponges (the pack looks like it would fit 2 side-by-side lengthwise based on the dimensions of everything else, and that makes little sense with how it actually looks)

Also on the sponges, theres no way there’s 10 in there when its 4 sponges tall packaging. It just doesn't math out. You’d have like a third row of packaging behind the thing for just two sponges?

I wonder if that would sound anything like rain, when you had a bunch of them.

Not to downplay how frustrating that must be, seriously, I live in a regressive area as well. It genuinely sucks.

What i find works moderately well is to describe programs in ways that benefit those people directly. Meet them where they are willing to be; selfish.

Don't mention the other people, focus on how it could help them and their family and friends.

If you can’t fix selfish, which in this economy you probably can’t, fix framing. Make it all about how much they win from social programs that “they pay for and don't get any of”. Thats getting easier to do with healthcare and UBI, as things get worse and the top few benefit, and they apply to everyone. Don't mention that it helps other people at all. Thats’s a negative to them, just tell them how much less they will be paying, how much their family will benefit with that extra money.

Honestly, it’s a “budget” vehicle, it doesn’t really have bells and whistles (for example, the infotainment system hardly gets used because it has physical buttons, but it does have the legally mandated backup camera on a different circuit, I haven't seen any cabin cameras), and they are only really highly available because most of the used ones on the market started life as cheap base package rentals, like mine.

I doubt they would bother being nefarious for a vehicle like that, when most people wont bother pulling a fuse even, but I’d also like to see that.

Those sites will be dead to me :)

QR codes are like the popups of days gone by. With incredibly few exceptions, I refuse to scan them. They are so easy to redirect for nefarious purposes, and you can’t easily inspect the url to know, assuming thats something you even do. Also my phone case covers the camera and it’s a bitch to get open so I’m very choosy with what gets camera time.

Sorry to not reply, haven't been around for a bit, I have a 2023 chevy bolt EUV, but the EV version is the same, and what I was planning to get if not for availability. Idk about their ice vehicles, ofc, nor any line of vehicles outside the US or non-electric. This was really the only one that checked all the boxes for me (privacy available, decent range, fully electric, cargo space and can* haul short distances. *owners manual says not to haul with it but you can. Should not be used to haul long distances as extra load just destroys the range, but I need 5-10 miles tops, and it can do that fine)

You can actually pretty easily remove the on-star module of you need the gps to work (only really useful over using a phone for pulling a full 12 amps by default from a level 1 (standard plug) outlet with location-based charging, but nobody I know, including me, wants to risk their wiring or get it inspected to assure I can pull that much amperage, so it literally makes no difference, plus when I have an electrician out, it’ll be to install a different plug to use a level 2 anyway which will pull at max, since my garage has an appliance hookup currently), but if you don't the one fuse kills all of it, and I think maybe the bluetooth microphone as well? I don't connect my phone to my car at all since that defeats the purpose, but I read something about it. I don't think it applies to phone calls, just voice controls. Something to look into if it matters to you.

Hot take: companies shouldn't get tax breaks, sweetheart deals, etc. ever, for any reason other than being non-profit public good companies. Succeed or fail on your own merits. Bootstraps and such, just like us poors are supposed to be able to do.

In fact, taxes should scale with a company’s purported value, profits, something along those lines.

The more you make the more you pay, until eventually you hit the ceiling, and everything above that is taxed at 100%. Same with money hoarding individuals.

I’m so tired of these welfare queens living on the public dole. They come into our communities with their hands out, trying to get something for nothing, while giving basically nothing back to society and spawning more of themselves to continue the leeching. And they take so so much more than all the social programs combined would. At what point do we say enough is enough?

I got pulled over in a drunk driving operation while leaving a rural bar. The original reason they gave when pulling me over was lane violation, which I assume means going over the lines?

I was sober, there to check out a local band, then left when it was over. I’m also a very good driver, no accidents, no tickets for moving violations, nor parking violations, in 20 years of driving.

Well, I had a dash cam, but it was hidden from rear view by fuzzy dice. When he got my info and saw that, he realized his pretense for pulling me over in the first place would be challenged (he couldn’t lie about why because they record audio), and entrapment is illegal here, so he didn't even give me time to dig out my insurance card, and he had to let me off with warnings.

Which is amazing because I didn’t realize, because I hadn’t driven much in the past couple years, that my registration was over a year expired. Oops.

If he hadn't been a lying shitbag, or I hadn't had a dashcam that would clearly show I didn't do what he pulled me over for, that traffic stop wouldn’t have been a waste of time for him and I’d be out some money.

ACAB.

Also, invest in a dash cam, everyone! They are cheap and can save your ass! Everyone should have one because ACAB!

They also completely fuck up your body and are entirely off the table for anyone with disabilities. And I guess anyone who doesn’t want to be disabled at 45. The rate of drug use in the trades due to pain is HUGE.

Trades, like college, are not for everyone, and should not be pushed to everyone as a solution or they won’t be lucrative anymore. Like lawyers in the 90s and IT today, by the time people, en masse, start saying everyone should do it, because it pays super well, enough people are in training, or planning to be, that the next wave to start is likely to be the last to make good money, and the wave after will bring everyone else down as well (arguably good at the moment because getting work done is ridiculously expensive, but not great long term for people in those jobs). I know several young people who are going into either trades or nursing. And that’s great, if that’s what they want to do.

But the thing is, people used to be able to support themselves without college and without trades. Every job used to pay a livable wage, thats literally what minimum wage in the US is supposed to be, the minimum required to live a decent life. Hell, if you go back far enough, like just to the 60s or so, people could work for the summer and spend the rest of the year traveling or going to college, and be totally fine. Now only a small portion of jobs pay anything resembling survivable wages, to say nothing of livable ones.

I had a site I was gunna buy stuff from ask me for a video selfie to “prove” I was over 21.

First if all, I wasn't buying anything controlled, so thats ridiculous over-reach, and second of all LOL FUCK NO I'm not giving you, some random-ass e-commerce site, my fucking biometric data. That’s absolutely insane.

Needless to say, I blocked that site on my pihole, so it no longer exists to me as an option. Sent them a message letting them know they lost a rather substantial sale from that shit. I’ll do that for absolutely every one, same with ID or whatever else. I could just use the tricks kids use, but that still rewards them for this bullshit with money.

I’ll just stop using the internet if it becomes a thing everywhere. It’s not really worth being on anymore, for the most part, anyway.

I wouldn't be able to take a selfie of my back without a mirror or the timer function, either, so thats normal I think. Frontal selfies aren't too hard though.

You might benefit from a selfie-stick, or learning to use the timer on your camera app, they really help if you aren't already accustomed to the hand contortions required to selfie with phone alone.

Otherwise it’s a weird and uncomfortable balancing act where you frame the phone with your index finger up the side, pinky supporting the bottom, two middle fingers holding the back, and hitting the photo button with your thumb.

Examples:

These are both landscape, but the idea is the same for portrait mode.

it does seem to be significantly easier for women to take artistic nudes.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is just how many shots are needed to get that one good one. Especially if doing it yourself.

I sent a really classy-looking black and white (because it evened out my skin and made the lace look extra nice) once, and it took me about 40 tries to get one I liked enough to send it. It took awkward positions, my arm got tired af, and if you’d been there in person it looked dumb as hell. Arms in weird places to hide them, legs bent funny, you get the idea. I had to try numerous poses to see what worked and didn’t, and it took about 45 minutes.

I’m by no means a photographer, I'm by no means a model, I’m not even a sexually-inclined person, but I am stubborn and persistent, and I’m introspective enough to know that if I think it looks nice and classy, most others will too.

I think that’s why women tend to have artistic photos and men tend to look like the swamp thing. Dude nudes tend to be the first pic they take, quality be damned. And often in dirty mirrors (do guys not know how to hold a phone to take a selfie without a mirror?).
