Yes, you are probably better off trying to replicate it without reinstalling, I guess this is trying to cater to AI techbros, or people that miss windows copilot (somehow?).
It's also a weird choice for that distro to base off Debian... Debian is famous for being stable, but AI stuff is usually considered "too old" after just a few months.
One tip though, if you try to replicate it using openclaw or any similar tool, run it in a VM without it having access your personal files. It has almost no safeguards, so you are putting your entire pc (and email mailbox / online accounts) at the mercy of AI hallucinations... One wrong command and it's all gone.
You can run llama.cpp on your real PC and have the VM connect to it.
I played splitgate 1 and 2 since the beginning (and I am still checking it out sometimes).
My feeling is that they launched too early and they wasted too much time on their battle royale mode, probably trying to attract compulsive spenders kids.
Linux got added shortly after launch, before BR got added if I remember right, which is fair for a beta/early access. But IMHO it went out of beta way too quickly, before they fixed many of the complaints. When they realized they fucked up, they went back into beta and tried to relaunch later (weird move, and probably turned off many of the remaining players).
IMHO the game problem is that they made it revolve a lot around BR, with not enough map variety for normal arena modes. They clearly wanted BR to be the mode everyone plays most. The arena maps had a distinct lack of portal surfaces, and BR was also weird with a limited amount of portals available, which defeats the game's selling point. The fans of the game also wanted an arena shooter, not another fortnite.
Nowadays arena is much better with more maps (they brought back some of the splitgate 1 maps), progression is no longer locked in strange ways and more modes are there.
It's a shame they failed so badly that they had to lay off people.
The linked video at the end of the article shows the trail, and it's for sure an expert level trail, full of dangerous sections.
The video says the full trail is only 30km long, but they reccommend 2-3 days, it's full of steep sections, cliffs at the side, false trails leading nowhere, unstable terrain, bears...
They were lucky they actually didn't get seriously injured.

Thousands of items, you always need to carry around at least 5 different tools because you constantly use them.
Even going mining fills up your inventory with so many types of the same ore (raw copper ore, crushed copper, impure copper dust, copper dust, ... ), not to mention if you decide to go loot a dungeon.
Also you unlock AE2 200h into the game, so good luck with your chests until then!
It's a fun modpack though, I still reccommend to try the 2.9 beta and laugh at the ridiculous crafting trees and how painful everything feels (try to craft a door, good luck!)
This "promotion as next obvious thing you want" needs to die. I don't want to go manage people and have told my manager that I'm happy in my current role and I don't want a promotion.
He was quite happy to know he did not have to worry about that.
I think we need much more accessibility in websites, but we also need local, helpful AI to help people with disabilities. The world is not only websites and computers, and I guess the AI tools help immensely in interacting with the physical world.

It's a fedora atomic distro.
I like the isolation of apps and it being "almost impossible to break", and I want to give a serious try to what looks like the future of OSs.
I tend to fiddle with the OS a lot, and this isolation limits me to flatpak and distrobox. It is a big limitation, but is perfect if you want to have a reproducible, isolated environments to develop code, but installing a system package is just too easy. Basically you need to spend time and know what you are doing to workaround this isolation, which makes sense to me.
Bazzite tweaks everything to be gaming-focused (it also ships with steam preinstalled, for example). The other fedora atomics (silverblue/kinoite) are just more "generic" and not gaming-focused compared to bazzite, but they have a similar setup. I think bazzite just customizes them.
You can also switch your entire system between them, with just a CLI command, with the ability to rollback too. So once you are in an atomic distro, you can switch without too much pain (in theory, at least).

You can implement an agent loop in any language, and modern languages can do everything that lisp can, so there's nothing magic in lisp.
At the end of the day lisp is just another weakly typed functional/procedural language.
Personally I didn't find lisp that much elegant due to the loose typechecking and the excessive parentheses, but the macro system allows some very terse and smart (and mind-bending, as you said) solutions, which do feel pretty cool when they work fine.
IMHO it'd be probably better to give your agent access to a python interpreter because it's much more prevalent in the training data than lisp...
I self-learned lisp last year using the old SICP book, but I do consider myself a fairly expert programmer, and I felt that book was a bit hard at the end of it.
IMHO the key difference of lisp's eval wrt python's eval is that it takes in input a parsed expression (a lisp list) and not a string. In lisp though you don't have to use eval much, because the macros allow you to transform the expressions from your programs directly (take in input parsed code, return a different code structure to be executed). The quote and quasiquote functions are there to make that easy!
I don't know javascript enough, but in python you'd have to use eval and use some kind of parsing package crazyness if you wanted to implement a similar macro system!

I ran it on my pc for a few years and the only source of breakage were nvidia drivers (in the past they sucked possibly even more). I remember running it using VESA drivers for like a week until I figured out how to fix it.
It's really nice how much you can customize it and make it really fit your own use-case.
I once ran it in a fully offline raspberry pi for 5-10 years (without updates) and it was rock solid. The hard disk it ran on and the power adapter died, but the sd card was mounted read-only so it lasted the full 10 years without any corruption. I kept a backup of the root filesystem on the sd-card so restoring it to a new disk was super-easy.
I also ran the hdd in btrfs raid-1 mode with a itself (two partitions), so that it could self-recover from random corruption due to power losses (I'm not sure it's a good idea, but it never caused any trouble)
It was just running 1 service and that's it, without any monitor or keyboard connected. I even made a small program with a single-key interface to run admin commands directly without needing a screen or any login (press "b"=reboot, "s" for btrfs scrub, for example).
Trying to customize, say, an ubuntu like that would have been a nightmare.
It took forever to compile everything on the raspberry pi though.
There's just no way to prevent this
