You were being reactionary, specifically about people memeing on somebody who secretly suppressed my entire main instance. I get posts feeling repetitive, but come on; what happened was fucked up. Blocking those people feels like you're seeking the sanitized fediverse the Tesseract dev was seeking.
Silently silencing the biggest queer and leftist voices for a bunch of users is quite disturbing the more one thinks about it. What if other frontends secretly do the same thing? What if other open source devs secretly want to control your opinions and speech, influencing you without your knowledge or consent? This is a terrible precedent for the fediverse, and something we absolutely cannot tolerate unless we want it to happen again.
I don't think it's a conspiracy, I just think many users have the same desire to avoid unpleasant feelings as the dev. Unfortunately, that just means they sit back and do nothing as most of the queer people are silenced.
It's actually really upsetting and disgusting, but if I made a post fully expressing my frustration, they wouldn't listen. They'd see it as too whiny, preachy, and rude. Then again, if that dev has added me to the list like I asked, they probably won't see this post in the first place.
The fact that you never intended the list to go public is absolutely damning. I trust instance admins to moderate and necessarily hide certain types of content from my view, but that's an agreement I consent to when I join the instance and can verify if I really want to. I do not expect a client to do this moderation, especially not when the repo says nothing about what it's doing.
It's almost like you knew nobody would want to use your software if you were honest and transparent about what it was. You want to create this "nice little fediverse," but were also likely aware that most of the people you wanted to influence would never sign up through your instance or even use your biased client. To some extent I get this desire to influence the discourse in some way. It's what I usually do on my blahaj.zone main, fostering positive community through leading by example and moderating directly. However, I would never dream of moderating without transparency, or trying to win over people through deception for that matter.
As someone who was raised ideologically liberal I don't know where you got the idea that making decisions for others without their consent is ok. The main reason I walked away from that ideology wasn't because my principles changed, but because I felt like the main advocates of it really didn't stand by them. It's the same reason why I don't like tankies; they give their states a pass for directly compromising their own values. When liberals on the fedi act even more authoritarian than the open Marxist-Leninists, it becomes clear to me that they have the same sort of brainrot as tankies.
So now that the truth about Tesseract is finally out in the open, I can freely choose to not take part in your "nice little mini-fediverse." I mainly use this platform to create the gay transfem equivalent of your "dick joke" humor. However, since even that is too radical for you, I humbly request that this account be blacklisted from your client as well.
I'm most familiar with LA's history of police gangs, but my understanding is they are not a total outlier. If anything, movies consistently downplay just how bad our police actually are, even when they take a critical stance on them. The copaganda is so pervasive that even people who dislike cops underestimate just how dire things are.
It's really upsetting that you're basically denying the lived reality of so many marginalized groups. I've met people who refuse to say ACAB that are less ignorant about our cops than you.
May or may not be justified?! I'm sure some of the people China targets also "may or may" have deserved it in the exact same way!
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but we do have roving bands of murder cops who decide who to kill on a whim. We have literal gangs who hunt down and murder people for fun in our largest and most liberal cities, and cops from small towns are somehow even more terrifying. It is absolutely tone deaf to think our cops are a gotcha against any country.
If anything, the most disappointing thing about China is how well they seem to be following our playbook. Most of the evil things they do were done worse by America, and with everything in China that is genuinely worse than the US, we're quickly catching up. You cannot whataboutism China as an American; the US isn't even the winning side anymore.
I think the fascist's assumption is that things can't get much worse for them, so they might as well make their enemies suffer more as well:
"We can't take a bigger L than we already have, so by doubling down we can outlast Iran and the rest of the world. Even though we'll have to deal with increased energy costs and a worsening economy, many other nations will be hit harder as we have enough domestic production. Our domestic oil exec buddies can even sell for a profit at high prices. The November elections can't get any worse for us and our base will never truly falter, so now might be time to pivot towards rigging elections and nullifying Congress!"
Of course, things absolutely can get worse for America, as a prolonged closure will cause every nation on earth to totally abandon the US. Our economy can absolutely go into a deep depression if something else goes wrong, and the ripple effects from that could be monumental.
same
That's good to know

Scripted exception
Finally someone says it
less pathetic than trying to distract from all the bad feels with beans and corn
I have missed being able to downvote reactionary liberals like you

I expect nothing more creative from people who want only "light hearted dick jokes"
It said ragebait answers only ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If it is a question of real life physics, then B would be correct

no 😔
You can't place a portal on a moving surface in either game, so neither.
Hehehe, you'll never know that I too talked about how you cannot hear me!
