These voting demographics are going to become increasingly volatile, probably for the rest of our lives, until you start to see sweeps like the mid 20th century again, but for the opposite reasons ie; voters are so pissed at the party in power that they abandon "the establishment" en mass and vote for the opposition party.
Unless democracy is truly subverted we might get a decade or 3 of one party Rule, Russia or Hungary style.
Or if something like 9 11 happens and we have an actually charismatic leader who can rally the country.
Would need to be a bigger impact though, we are numb after covid.

There aren't that many federal courts in the country. Wouldn't take much to create decades of backlog if they can't prosecute offenders in state courts.

There are things to do and see in any city or town in America, but I expect that kind of travel is an aquired taste.
(By comparison: the small towns around my city boast things like: peanut festival, strawberry festival, highland games. I expect you could find similar events in Ithaca or Troy, but you would need to enjoy that kind of 'state fair' atmosphere.
