Your first point is so huge IMO. If you can't enjoy being at your own home then trying to have some kind of fulfilling life is going to be a steeper uphill battle than it already was.

Look at it like the Buddhists and stoics. Thinking your happiness is out there waiting on some beach, or in some fancy car or McMansion, is only going to perpetuate your suffering in the actual real now.

Or put another way, if you decide to find happiness and fulfillment in your home and your local community, and it works, then THEY can't stop you. Whoever that is in your case.

Many people treat their dog like it's a piece of furniture, like it's just something you are supposed to have in a normal home. Hell, plenty of people seem to be that way about their own human children.

I guess some of them might have their dog for paranoia reasons too, like its presence is going to make them more safe.

That quote makes it sound like he really understands why the users might not want him to destroy reddit.

Which also makes it sound like he is fully aware of his own conscious choice to destroy what could be a valuable resource for millions of people just so his sorry little ass can get slightly richer than he would have already been.

American Christians' two most hated hot takes on fellow humans seem to be what Jesus says about marginalized groups and what the Statue of Liberty says about marginalized groups.

And yes, I've been hugely popular at both parties I've attended.

Well obviously! Everybody here can see you have at LEAST two shit-hot science facts just ready to go when the house ain't bumping.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some stick with lab coats.

The border between Finland and Russia is 1,340km long. This has helped them become best of friends. They especially like to cuddle for warmth in the winter.

I just widen my stance and let my upper body hang down like I'm trying to touch the ground directly between my feet.

If I feel there's still a bit left, I'll grab my ankles or the ends of my pant legs and pull.

It's so good, like a "the best things in life are free" moment. (over 40 here btw)

Indeed. If I may quote my own comment from a couple weeks ago:

I have watched the simulated running of various dinosaur species in documentaries such as Jurassic Park.

I have also watched my chickens excitedly run around my back yard.

There is nothing you can say that will convince me birds are not literally dinosaurs.

I think it's less about genuinely caring at this point and more about it being a home-grown meme. Plus it's perfectly designed to be popular around here because it directly involves individuals and you don't have to lean on Star Trek, Linux, or even beans for it to get attention. Those three things are good, but people like variety.
