Don't hold your breath...

The debt is skyrocketing because Trump is slashing taxes, but the demonrats won't stop spending. If we want to get the debt under control, we need to kill every social program and let private enterprise provide those services more efficiently.

If I could whip that out so quickly, imagine how it's being spun in the maga echo chambers.

Credit utilization /= carrying a balance. I put most purchases and payments on CCs, pay them off completely every month, and my credit utilization is typically something like 10% without paying a cent in interest, and I have an excellent credit score.

From years and years of first-hand experience, there may be a swing of a couple 10s of points when you get closer to that 30% utilization, but it has nothing to do with whether you are carrying a balance and paying interest. Further, that 20 or 30 points basically background noise when it comes to qualifying for new credit.

People get so fucking hung up on whether this or that will change your score by 15 points and how that signals some grand conspiracy. Open a line of credit or two, use it responsibly to demonstrate that you can manage access to that credit--pay on time and in full--it really is that simple.

It does kind of suck when your options are:

A) Early flight that gets you to your destination 5 hours before hotel check-in, and requires getting up at 2:30am

B) Late flight that leaves at a convenient time, but means you waste an entire vacation day to arrive at 10pm

C) Convenient flight that costs 3x more than option A or B and suddenly eats up half your travel budget

A usually ends up being the most attractive option.

It's pretty simple. Male/female are adjectives and man/woman are nouns. Referring to a person as an adjective that describes them is generally not a great look because it reduces the person to that one characteristic about them.

[Correct] Women who go shopping are female shoppers.

[Incorrect] Females who go shopping are woman shoppers.

It can be an honest mistake, but it's used deliberately enough to warrant the side-eye, especially when people stand up to defend it. Some people do get a little weird about ANY usage of the word female, correct or not, but this is not one of those scenarios.

I had a friend I would have described that way. The kind of dude who seemed to know and be friends with everyone, and comfortable in any large social setting, but also seemed to genuinely enjoy just hanging out 1 on 1 and watching a movie or some other low energy activity with my introverted ass. It felt good to have someone with those great people skills who was happy to match my energy now and then.

So yeah, I know exactly what they meant, and I can tell you from experience how much they appreciated you!

Been there too.

Pretty much all of June and July was spent convincing myself that yeah, that was definitely just a firework. Or a whole string of fireworks in rapid succession...

Used to have a senior dog who had mostly outgrown frivolities like fetch and tug-of-war. But she would still sometimes forget herself and launch into a few seconds of zoomies if I did this to her while she was sniffing around the back yard!

Getting a cranky stubborn dog to mirror you and drop into that play pose never gets old :)

Is that wind generated by the wings of an African or a European swallow?

Tech-literate non-programmer who gets most of the jokes posted here... that's what I thought at first, but it seemed like a clunky joke.

The moment I clicked into the comments and saw someone mention interrupts, the joke made so much more sense!

As a longtime McMaster user, our work recently tried to get us to switch to Fastenal and/or Grainger as preferred suppliers because of some bullshit procurement dick-waving (they wouldn't offer us a blanket 1% discount like the other guys, or something)

It's honestly astounding how bad their websites are, compared to just about anything else, even if you have the manufacturer's exact part number.

But yeah, McMaster is awesome, and there was enough hell raised that they were back on as a preferred supplier within a few months. Like, what even is a 1% discount when it means your engineers and maintenance guys are spending untold hours fighting a shitty website to find that one specific component that McMaster serves you up in 4 clicks?

Really? Those people who cant figure out how to engage their cruise control are the bane of my road tripping existence.

Especially when they pass you oh-so-slowly forcing you you to slow down to get in the passing lane behind them when you encounter the next few cars, then they slow down while passing, only to speed up again 2 miles later after you overtake them....

Its about the mildest possible of infuriating, but its like water torture.
