I don't think my depression is typical. I'm on top of everything, spotless apartment, waking up on time, eating alright, exercising, seeing my friends regularly, having sex, visiting nature, getting all my work done and so on. I know that I'm smart enough and resourceful enough that I can achieve any goal I set my mind to.

The problem is that it isn't enough. I don't feel satisfied by any of it. I run my life as if my feelings will change and one day it will all feel worth it, but deep down I just know. Life doesn't have anything for me. What I need doesn't exist.

Wow this is insanely relatable. I'm 28 starting my life over, going back to college. I'm quitting the tech industry and hoping to become a lawyer to start suing tech companies instead of working for them.

I make whatever jokes I want and people still like me cause I don't let stranger women on the internet police my humor

Ive been putting all the stuff I need to remember on a cork board right above my desk. My trick for it to not become background noise is that every note I add to it is interactive in some way. I add boxes to check, lists to expand, or recently I just cut out 31 squares of grid paper and glued it to my note as a sort of calendar, just to fill in a box each day of August that I remember the importance of the note. It also helps to be constantly adding and removing things. If details relating to a note have changed, I'll sometimes take the note down, toss it, and rewrite the note with a different color pen before sticking it back up. Constant change helps a lot.

I only pasted a link because I had a feeling you weren't gonna be worth the conversation and I was right
