Absolutely, all brands have their cheap lines. I mean they're fine but they're not quality. I have a reasonable Henkels knife which I use for everyday kitchen tasks but I also have my Japanese chefs knife which is razor sharp and is only used (by myself only) for fine cutting.

I largely agree and tried to slim down my wallet and it was a big improvement having just a small MagSafe one.

  1. Drivers license (required to have physical license here, a fine if you don’t have it while driving)
  2. main credit card
  3. transit card

I also have an EDC bag that has

  • backup credit card
  • a few small bills
  • my car’s keycard
  • flashlight
  • pocketknife
  • pencil & pen
  • sharpie
  • shopping cart releaser (for pay carts)
  • earplugs
  • toothpick
  • i should put a lockpick or two in but I keep them in my car

In hindsight I could probably ditch my wallet altogether and just go with the EDC, it fits comfortably in my front pocket even with all that stuff.

Ya there’s no way I’m supporting that. I support educating people and absolutely crackdowns on people using mobile devices when driving though. Could triple the fines and points for these. I’ve seen so much of that crap recently.

I use namesilo as my registrar. No drama. Just works. I moved over from godaddy, didn’t have any issues with them either but was paying more for services I don’t need.

Curious which MikroTik you had. I’ve been running them for years and absolutely rock solid. Right now a HEX-S refresh and it’s awesome and cheap.

It is complex to configure properly because it’s so powerful though. ChatGPT is great for debugging configs.

MikroTik router with unifi APs. Rock solid and fast.

Wouldn’t get too hung up on openwrt, it was good for its day but there are far better options now.

That’s fine. It just sounded like they were purposefully excluding many Canadian made products except for a very small niche someone is attempting to carve out.
