He didn't scream and try and run away from Rocky, he was instantly excited and eagerly worked his ass off for a first contact with an intelligent alien race.

It's a very good movie but it really should have been a 10 episode series so as to do the book justice. Even at 2.5 hours long, the movie felt rushed in some points and showed some narrative gaps. But overall I am satisfied by the movie and would recommend it.
