The computer that lags like this is an HP Elitebook 645 running Win 11 Enterprise. It has a Ryzen AMD 7 Pro 7730 with 16GB RAM. My drive is a 512GB WD SN740 SSD NVMe. It's not cutting edge, but it's fair to expect the OS to perform pretty seamlessly.
Clicking the start menu now results in literally 20 seconds of nothing until the apps appear. Even typing "excel" does nothing for about the same time. It is hot garbage.
What the actual fuck? It seems like no world government is actually carrying out the will of its citizens anymore. I eagerly await a global revolution where we all make it stop.
PC, but put SteamOS or Bazzite on it and save the cost of a windows license. Windows has been noticeably worse in the last year, in my opinion. Meanwhile, Linux gaming has been improving dramatically.
Please pardon my ignorance, but I don't understand why people are so mad. Owning physical media does not mean you can play your game. As long as games talk to servers and receive updates, they can be killed. For example, I own a disc for Overwatch (1), that has been a coaster for several years now. So while I 100% agree this is shitty practice, I feel like this is not new at all. Am I missing something, or are people just discovering this now?
I'm in Canada. Most of your democrats would have to run as conservatives here. And even Obama was drone-striking kids in the middle east, so maybe the lenses through which we look at the world are different.
That's not fair to voters. Two elections in a row the democrats put forward candidates who were way too far right, and essentially told everyone to suck it up and vote for them anyways. You can hardly blame people for not voting.
I'm not American, but I don't know if I would have voted in election either.
When they hiked the price, I dropped from Ultimate to the minimum required for online multiplayer. I imagine that each month I put the difference in my Steam Machine fund (or some custom built PC running SteamOS).
I'm old and I agree. I play Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and stuff like Overwatch. I do not want games aimed at old people - just good games. No one wants "Shuffleboard: The Game" or "Pickleball: The Game". And if they do want those things, they probably already exist.
Around Christmas, I installed Xubuntu on a 2012 Macbook Air, and it has breathed new life into it. This computer was running El Capitan, and Apple decided it wasn't worth updating. I now love it more than when it was new. No regrets. The specs are below. DeepSeek (AI) walked me through the process - it was easy.
When abortion is made illegal or inaccessible through state bans (triggered by the Dobbs decision) and birth control options are narrowed by revived federal laws like the Comstock Act (which criminalizes mailing contraceptives and abortion-related materials), women with unwanted pregnancies may self-induce miscarriages simply because they have no legal alternative—not because they prefer an unsafe method, but because safe, legal abortion has been taken away.
Whatever. Tiktok essentially opened this generation's eyes to Israel's atrocities in Gaza. People like to belittle it as though it is all just stupid kids doing dumb stuff, but I strongly feel it's a force for good.
No kidding! I see you're getting down voted since it was a beloved classic, but I encourage people to rewatch it. And Temple of Doom was so much worse. My whole family was blown away by the sexism and racism when we watched it again last year.

One thing that happened is that I left and have never returned!

This here is why we all hate AI.
Stupid sexy Bloodborne.

MacBook Air 5,2 (Mid-2012 model) with: Key Components: · CPU: Intel Core i5-3427U (Ivy Bridge) · RAM: 8GB DDR3
Pretty sure that's illegal here.

Do you not comprehend that all normal options were taken from her?

A woman in a meeting I was recently in had an iPhone 13. I'm not a fan of apple, but I loved that phone, and was super jealous. 5.4" screen.
Hey England, You might as well paint a big target on yourself. You are not allowed to clutch your pearls when your infrastructure is targeted.
