As a bassist, you should probably avoid me as I might rewrite your song lyrics to be subtly anti-capitalist

actually it's that right handed people couldn't handle Link's lefthandedness, so they made him right handed in the wii version specifically

My experience with Bazzite was that it was the distro that just worksβ„’, so it sucks you're running into problems. Since time is a crunch, maybe check out the Pop_OS 24.04 beta. It comes with Nvidia drivers and the full release is just a week away. It's also Ubuntu based so it should be easy for your friend if they are new to Linux.

As others have mentioned, the blahaj.zone Sharkey might be what you want, but I'll give a couple pointers in case you want something else (or someone reading this does).

You can join any fediverse instance as they are mostly compatible with each other. Join a small instance with good moderation based on what you like. It might not be easy to decide what the best instance for you is, which is kinda a downside of the fediverse, but look around. I joined floss.social because I'm a programmer, they have a user cap, and their moderation is great. While I don't browse local posts much, it's good to see fellow people with similar interests posting about things I like, all with no algorithm.

I've been on Pop_OS for 4 years and I've used Bazzite and Endeavor on my other computers for a few months. My only issues have been with nvidia drivers (not so much of a problem anymore) and some of the propriety hardware in my laptop being funky. I'd say, honestly, if they can handle Windows they can probably handle any mainstream distro. If all they use is Steam and a browser, anything will suffice. I'd personally lean toward Bazzite as I doubt they can break it and it comes set up for gaming already. If they game with anything outside Steam, teach them how to use Lutris. The Bazzite forums and wiki pages are also great, albeit some are a bit technical, although I doubt they'll need it if they are very tech illiterate anyway.

This is exactly how I learned it as well, except I did Mermen instead of Mormon.
