I think people got a little too hung up on the references. I mean, I get it, it breaks the immersion of it's constantly referencing other movies you know.
But if you look at the movie on its own terms, it's a really nice Alien movie.

This oversensitivity can be just a random trait that might not be helpful at all in the current environment (or any other previous environment). It can also just be a psychology response to a traumatic event for example. Humans are quite complex.

I'm at the very start. I have had my first RTS battle, but this is just a quest fight with a limited amount of units. If they are dead I fail the mission. It's just hard to keep them alive. And I feel like I don't really know what I'm doing
