I once sat in a graveyard in the rain for two hours with my cat in a box while my partner had a visit from the landlord. A homeless man met my cat and was very complimentary.

If the self-checkouts cost the company less, then it'd be good for them to pass on the savings - but in a capitalist world, that's not normal. If a company gets one of its food ingredients cheaper, does it usually drop its prices? Not unless it's already competing at that price.

Self checkouts are a good thing. They're not "us doing the shop's work". They're not "free labour". In fact, they're a boon to a lot of us as customers, and shops with them still have "traditional" tills you can use if you want (e.g. if you have a huge trolley of things or you want a nice chat)

This post has literally inspired me to order a pizza for my lunch today rather than open the fridge.

I have only vague knowledge, but I think it's real. He's a twat that a huge number of kids look up to, who is essentially the end boss of capitalistic decay.

Reminds me of a guy who ordered pizza to the pub but didn't want to make the landlord cross so he got enough for everyone. I had three slices and some of his weed.

I'd be ok with a flowering plant, something I can put in a pot or the garden and it'll live.

This depends. A lot of albums aren't coherent "pieces of art", and the track listing is ordered and selected by execs other than the artist, so it's kind of meaningless. "Greatest hits" albums are also not relevant.

But yeah, this is a big reason why I went back to vinyl and cassette - I select something, put it on, and listen to it straight through without skipping, because that would require me to get up off my chair and walk across the room. Life hack amiright.
