I used to work 5 week shifts on a ship, and as an introvert, once I arrived back home my social battery was well beyond spent. Since I was offshore, people were used to my phone being "outside of reception". But the truth was that once I arrived back home it was an important part of my self care ritual:
Upon arriving back home, I sent an SMS to my mom letting immediate family know that I was no longer on the other side of the planet, but back home and safe. I then turned my phone completely off and left it under my bed, and did whatever I felt like doing. After about three days I felt ready to interact with society again.
Because I'm old and crusty, and always rawdogged service setups. I'm sure containers are nice and all, I just never got around to learning them properly.
Agreeing with betterdeadthanreddit on this one: Memory is malleable. Especially so if there are conspiracy bucks or fame to be earned from media attention. Not saying that the latter is the case, but I wouldn't outrule it.
A few questions off the top of my head:
How did this woman immediately know the meaning of the black tag?
How did she communicate if she had only a lung attached to a head (as he allegedly claimed at some point). To actually breathe, an entire chest is needed, as the lung can't inflate itself.

Yes, in any statement "can lead to" does a lot of heavy lifting. There's a big leap between "I added a grain of fructose to my tea last month" to "I added a grain of rice to my HFCS brother this meal too"
