I know what crimping is, and I know how to terminate an Ethernet cable, but I don't know why you'd want to crimp 4 things at once and don't know what those socket things you're crimping on are?
Ferrules - great for terminal blocks, wagos etc. It's just for crimping one - the stripped wire goes into the plastic end, and the metal sheathing is crimped down onto the exposed wire.
Am I the only one to call them 'light orange' instead of 'orange-stripe'? I know they aren't that color, yet whenever I'm crimping a cable and have to repeat the colors to get them in order...

You've apparently never pulled hundreds of feet of ethernet cable from racks or under raised datacenter floors. Without these, you're replacing that connector once it pops loose from the tangle without a tab

Your infrastructure cabling shouldn't ever be terminated to rj45. That should always be terminated to a keystone jack.
But even if you're dealing with cables that were terminated into rj45 and need to be relocated with rj45s at the new location, you should just go ahead and cut the ends off. The end can get snagged and stuck with the end on.

Finally a thread for me!
I like the protected tabs because barring any absurd workspace dimensions I can use the plastic as extra leverage to press down on the tab with.
And I like sliding the Ethernet Foreskin over the terminal after I'm done assembling it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I've never seen that button reboot a switch. If held during a reboot it will interrupt the boot process but not initiate it.
