Tested and Explained on YT has a few comparison vids

The different refresh rates is an important one, as this game is "supposed" to run at 50 Hz and feel fast at 60 Hz.

Also, the cutscene comparison: it really does look like AI was used to fix it up. The press release said:

Apidya’ Special is an authentic, 24-bit pixel remake — no 3D models, no AI upscaling — just handcrafted pixels and passion.

So, I hope it just looks that way.

Still a strong maybe from me.

I haven't played any DDP games before. DOJ has been in my PlayAsia cart for about 6 months. It is hard to know where to start.

This week I spent a lot of time bouncing around between Crimzon Clover (Novice Boost and Arcade Original) and Gunvein (that stage 3 boss trips me up 80% of the time).

Have a good weekend!

I could train for a year on the same game and I'd never be able to maintain a conversation while playing, and read the chat. I would love to see an fMRI of a player like PAN during a live stream.

Anyway... No training mode is an odd one. But adding things after release is now a thing, too.

From Tech-Gaming

Apidya’ Special proves that Kaiko’s shooter deserved to crawl out of the Amiga’s back catalog. Boasting demanding action, a familiar power-up system, and superb Hülsbeck soundtrack, this is a shooter built on solid foundations and thoughtfully improved for modern audiences. Anyone who appreciates shooting Darius’ robo-fish or flying the Vic Viper will appreciate this remake that’s buggy in all the right places.

It would be nice to see, but I doubt that anything like that would happen.

Some people view the IWC is opinionated or a form of technoelitism

And some people don't want to associate them with the small web and the like because they promote using things like AWS

I do like some of their ideas, like the blog themes. New bloggers would probably get a kick out of taking part. Sometimes the themes reflect on the IndieWeb too

It's already Saturday? I DID NOT see the week go by. Seriously. When I saw this post I thought, "Ha! They posted a day early!"

That means that I have just today and tomorrow left before returning to work.

I finished making my partner's website, she is happy. I made it with Geany, Astro, a pre-made theme, and Rosé Pine. The most time-consuming part was changing the theme to make it multilingual. Now, though, I've just realized that the author of the theme did not specify the license...

RE: self-promotion posts

Lemmy seems to be a target for a certain type of self-promotion: a freshly-made account, a photo/text post with a link in the body. When the post federates across instances, it creates multiple backlinks to the site.

I'm fine with self-promotion, but it should be tagged as such and noted in the title if it is vibe-coded. Or, perhaps a weekly pinned self-promo thread?

Cool. But, which repair centre has the contract for bricked phones. In Europe only one place has the vendor key thing if you fuck up while flashing the device, they won't let users or other repair places have it so I assume it works the same in the US.

If I needed a new phone, I might get one of these. Repairable phones are cool.

Liquid is supposed to be concentrated, if you use too much and don't rinse enough you won't really remove smells/bacteria. As others mention, it is best to read manuals and instructions. If you don't use enough your clothes will smell like the worst thing in the wash.

I hardly see powder for sale in any shops where I live, so liquid gets the convenience points.

When I do see powder, I buy it because it is useful for setting the delayed start on my washer. I used to do pods, but they are awful, especially the pods filled with liquid. The water is so hard where I live, maybe that had something to do with it.

Elle dit quignon.

Bon voilà, à 42 ans j'apprends le mot quignon. 30 ans que je parle français, 20 ans en France... Merci !

I've lived in France for 20 years and never heard that word.

I'll check and see what my wife calls it...

I've heard these called heels and loaf ends, but also hoes (because everyone touches them but doesn't want to keep them, which was funny in the 90s when I was 12 but now I find just awful and mean).

What do you call them?
