Yeah, even if you're lonely, talking to a chatbot is not the same as talking to a friend. A friend will call me stupid if I'm being stupid or talk about their own interests or experiences that might not align with mine too. Chatbots just feel hollow and the praise it gives rings even less sincere because of it. Seeing it as a companion is a form of purposeful self isolation I don't understand.
I mean... I'm all for criticizing government surveillance, but flight records are public data so you're both right and should take it up a notch to say they already know what you ate on the plane to make your point..

And thus privacy goes away unintentionally.

Maybe I'm biased because clicking on links that don't solve my problem tend to make me more pessimistic, but it feels to me like those sites that used to just be keyword packed lists of links to get themselves higher in the search results.
It's way easier to explain to customers "these companies have enterprise commitments and long term support available if needed", I realize that they all essentially run the same stuff but frankly I can't guarantee I'm always gonna be the one supporting them and it is an added safety net for when they decide not to upgrade for an eternity. Not to mention just about every VPS provider has at least one of those two options available out of the box, they're frankly the safe boring choices.
Redhat and Ubuntu are controversial for me. Don't want them for desktop, but for any professional server I would choose them over any of the others (and preferably alpine for any docker containers running on them)
