i literally replied to someone who presented their opinion of psychologists being useless and "just give me meds" with my opposing opinion of "actually a change in perspective worked for me". why are you ignoring that guy's "this worked for me, it must work for everybody else, and anybody who doesn't try this is a full" huh?
pop science? my guy, why do you think psychologists exist? to be prescription dispensers? the most common way people get better is by first using meds to ease their chemical imbalance, and then also attending therapy or otherwise working on themselves so they don't have to use meds
and you're healing your bloody psyche. why do you want to be on meds for the rest of your life so much?
nah a shift in perspective is how you truly heal, chemical help makes you reliant. it's important to start with it so you can rest from constant anxiety, but it's not going to fix you, you fix you
and what that guy is saying is a valid method of dealing with anxiety that has allowed me to heal step by step
i look at my wall clock quite a lot, mainly because it's easier for me to visualise the "distance" of time with it. and hour on my phone is not much different from 5min
i bought the cheapest brother bw laser printer about a year ago - proceeded to print a solid 20 different TTRPGs in a week, replaced the toner, and now i've been on the second toner for a little under a year. amazing experience, you only run out if you want to print a library, for documents that thing's going to last forever
i haven't heard about the concept of being trans until i was around 16?
up until then i had dysphoria, but had no idea those feelings were dysphoria. i would hate my birth name and try to pick a different one, but i only looked at girl names (because people told me i'm a girl, so i had to) and none of them felt right which bummed me out. and i had that empty feeling in my chest like there was a black hole sucking all the joy out of me. and of course there was this deep and fierce hatred towards my body when i had my period
even after i learnt what being trans was in theory it still didn't get through to me that it was an option i could take until i met someone whow as trans in real life when i was 17
hey give me those all rounder offers, all i'm seeing is "we're looking for a specialist in marketing in tiktok comments who speaking C2, B1, and A1 in Latin, Ancient Egyptian, and Mayan respectively. 5 years of experience required"
i much prefer doing positive attention baiting. on tiktok especially i like going to small artists' channels and saying nice things about their art (that i do mean), they reply quite often :)
sometimes i even get an amazing treat in return! - more art! not always, but sometimes, i notice artists posting more after i visit their channel a few times. It really makes me feel this comfortable warmth in my chest
i've got no idea man. maybe trying to do activism?
my imperfect solution was to limit media intake, i'm fully aware i'm just holding hands in front of my eyes pretending i don't see - but you know what, i'm no longer depressed, i'm no longer riddled with anxiety... so i guess plugging your ears and going lalalalala works. (i have to add that i do my best to stay kind of informed, but not too much. basically whatever memes give me, i'll know)
reading comprehension online is sad
and yet, they clocked out after the first sentence

dang, you didn't even get halfway through what i wrote, that's all i'll reply with as i can't be bothered to answer to an argument i already adressed

i'm asexual-ish but not sex repulsed. i don't care for the body, i care deeply about the mind
from henceforth all the children that i may or may not have were born on Janurary 1st 1970
hmmm, but you don't pronounce most emojis, maybe 🤷♂️ but that'd be about it. come to think of it, is pronounceability required to fit the definition?
someone please take some of mine, i can share, really

good news! there is a skeleton inside of you, it won't be cultural appropriation if you tell people to call you bone daddy, you can just do that :)
