DNS is just gonna be like that, I'm afraid. Unless there's some other mechanism I'm not aware of, either updating your IP in your records or having a Dynnamic DNS setup is gonna be necessary.
I'm lucky enough that my ISP has a relatively long lease time and doesn't care to change my IP a lot, so I don't really mind updating mine manually the few times a year that becomes necessary.

From the mark's bank's pov, the mark has spent more money than they were ever entitled to.

At least I knew enough to test one change at a time and verify functionality with the concerned parties before moving to the next change, so nothing broke catastrophically like this, but looking back on the experience scared the shit outta me. Never fixed the issue, but the slop machine had me believing I was just on the cusp of fixing everything the whole time.
I know for a fact that there are people way dumber than me, way more powerful than me, and way more willing to eat up this garbage psuedo-technical sycophancy all at the same time, and that sends a cold shiver down my spine.

It shows that even as a dumb teenager, I already knew what I was talking about enough to help people with their electronics bullshit, and it shows a long history of it. Now, it's a bullshit retail job, and as such doesn't show up on my resume all the time, but it's still relevant to those who know what that store was all about, even to its bitter end.
I run my own repo for my AUR packages, with the help of aurutils, on a VM, which also needs updates. That way I get to run updates for my server before building packages before running even more updates on my clients. Makes the update O exponentially better 🤤
