My wife and I have been self employed since 2001, and we have been very fortunate to make it work well for the past 25 years. We spend every day with the kids, have flexibility in our lives and earn profits instead of wages. Give it a thought.
The thing nobody is willing to admit is if free food and shelter for everyone becomes a thing, the population would explode. Every system in nature needs a balance. Any organism, animal, living thing, humans included, will increase in population until the limit of resources is hit. We have no natural predators so our population is limited solely by the resources we have access to. Feeding everyone would actually increase the problem of trying to feed everyone.
When Trump came to my city they shut down all the major roads (interstates, highways) for hours. The whole city was in gridlock. Nobody went anywhere that day. Helicopters were circling overhead. It was a massive headache.
Banking works just fine without apps and websites. They mail you a statement every month. You have a local branch for deposits and withdrawals. They give you a plastic card you can use to make purchases and withdraw from ATMs.
