If you have the model I'm talking about it isn't even an upgrade, it's just an adjustment. There's tools you need if you want it to be perfectly exact, but eyeballing it worked fine for me.
The newer ones you have to buy a replacement part though.
Since you got that used there is a chance that it has the older spring style pressure valve, which you can just adjust yourself. I did it to the used one I bought years ago, it was very easy.
From the web client, go to the triple line menu in the top right, then click your username, then settings, then scroll about 2/3 down and uncheck "show NSFW content"
For mobile clients the setting location varies, but its usually somewhere near blocking and filtering settings.
Not only that, but basic liability usually doesn't cover gig work either, you need a special and more expensive policy for that.
There are limited exceptions where you can self insure, I think New Hampshire is the only place you can do that in the US. However if you can self insure then you probably aren't doing gig work.
You are playing it on hardware that's 10 years newer than the game was designed for. That mod even lists SSD as the primary reason for the advancement, with it not making much difference running on an HDD.
Sounds like a great mod for today's equipment though.
Here's someone that solved this by monitoring the directory using inotifywait, but based on the restrictions you already mentioned I'm assuming you can't install packages or set up root daemons, correct?
DVD players used to be (probably still are?) region locked, and those didn't require internet service either. The region was either hard coded or could only be changed like 5 times.
It was an attempt to enforce geographic licensing fees and stop piracy.
That was my take as well. Anyone with large real estate or other investment portfolios is treading water while those who don't are sinking without directly realizing why.

Plus anything cool required real money, or an insane amount of grinding.

Yea, some religious people are fine, it's the Gods who are assholes.
What sketchy ass VPN's have you been using?
Get something from a well known provider like Proton, iVPN, or Mullvad.

If you get four 2500 degree ovens, then it will only take 30 seconds!

They probably don't fit on the car wash tracks.
