Gotta get those microplastics right in there by the roots
RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com · 21 pts · 2y
It's what plants crave
bort@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 2y
solid blocks of plastic create microplastics when sitting in dirt?
MaggiWuerze@feddit.de · 9 pts · 2y
yes
Wahots@pawb.social · 3 pts · 2y
Acidic soil + UV, for sure.
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee · -3 pts · 2y
🙄
SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
I don't get it. Are you a microplastics denier or something?
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y
I just think people here have taken the worry about it to ridiculous degree.
SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y
I wasn't worrying about it; I was glibly joking about the ecological disaster.
Contend6248@feddit.de · 1 pts · 2y
Are you watering your plants? Microplastics got you anyway
SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
Maybe slow it down a bit by not directly putting more plastic in there.
Justas@sh.itjust.works · 20 pts · 2y
Me and my wife chose a more sporky solution.
MeanEYE@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
Good and cheap solution!
RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 2y
And better than putting more plastic in the dirt.
MeanEYE@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
If you take the plastic out, it's not much of a problem.
IMALlama@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 2y
These are cute, but I use popsicle sticks personally. Fast/easy. Now drip trays and even pots... those I have been known to print.
technomad@slrpnk.net · 12 pts · 2y
Alright, well, I thought these were really cool. Just sayin'
Grass@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 2y
Do we just have enough micro plastics already in the water and soil that these don't make a measurable difference?
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee · 6 pts · 2y
I mean do you really think these would make a measurable difference? I'd be really surprised.
MNByChoice@midwest.social · 10 pts · 2y
I am a terrible gardener as I only recognize zucchini.
Ephera@lemmy.ml · 22 pts · 2y
They're written in German/Austrian.
Paradeiser is tomato,
Kürbis is pumpkin,
Melone is melon,
Salatgurke is cucumber,
Melanzani is eggplant.
spechter@lemmy.ml · 15 pts · 2y
I'm a native speaker and I've never heard Paradeiser until three weeks ago
Ephera@lemmy.ml · 11 pts · 2y
Native speaker of German or native speaker of Austrian? Because yeah, that's perhaps the most Austrian word in existence...
Schlecknits@feddit.de · 5 pts · 2y
I was raised in near Vienna and I heard the word often. However I've moved to Tyrol recently and it isn't really used here.
Hellstormy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
Here in Salzburg nearly nobody uses it
Treczoks@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y
"Paradeiser" ist Österreichisch.
LowtierComputer@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
Interessant!
Roflmasterbigpimp@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 2y
In April comes the "Bubatz" one? 🥸
starchylemming@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
austria too?
Roflmasterbigpimp@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y
Oh is he Austrian? Whoops. I guess not then. But our brothers and sisters from the Alps are more then welcome to join us :D
Schmuppes@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y
The "Paradeiser" gave it away.
seasick@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
indeed I am
lugal@lemmy.ml · 7 pts · 2y
Found the Austrian
blooddemon40k@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y
Pics of your Salatgurke or it didn't happen
darkmogool@feddit.de · 6 pts · 2y
How to say you're from Austria, without saying you're from Austria.
But nice signs.
ben_dover@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y
Hello fellow Austrian 👋
MeanEYE@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y
I have a different approach. I print very thin 0.2mm plastic strips and use label maker on them.
hinterlufer@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
might as well cut up old yogurt containers
MeanEYE@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
Or that.
swordsmanluke@programming.dev · 4 pts · 2y
You don't have enough zucchini markers.
Hmm. How many kilos do you have? It doesn't really matter how much zucchini you plant - you will need at least three times as many markers as you think.
KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz · 3 pts · 2y
Post Melone
corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 2y
Well I've used a thickness planer but it wasn't good for field work. I have a hand plane but please let me know how I could use it on my garden.
monomon@programming.dev · 1 pts · 2y
I wanted to make something similar for my mom's garden, but yours look way better than what I had in mind. Thanks.
Paragone@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 2y
No Triffid markers??
Normal ppl, harrumph.
: P
seasick@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
