I went this route a year or so ago. Wait, that was three years ago now? I should have never checked.
I've owned a few smart watches over the years and got tired of things failing. Bands splitting (remember the Microsoft band?), batteries degrading, cases splitting due to swollen batteries, etc.
The only downside is that straight analog watches will drift some over long enough time periods, so you will occasionally need to adjust them by a minute or two.
Hugin! That's a name I have not heard in a long time. I got a ton of use out of that software in the aughts.
On modern(ish) bodies I haven't really had the need to exposure stack. Most sensors have enough DR out of the box, especially if you're able to keep ISO down. What promoted you exposed stack? Were you being proactive, were you looking for super dynamic range, ...? I'm genuinely curious and do not mean to sound like I'm questioning the technique.
French toast should have a decent dose of eggs and milk to to along with the sugar, so it comes with protein. Granted, I know that French toast is often not well made :(
I don't know that I have very specific recommendations right now :(
I do actually own a pair of whitins. They're pretty cheap on Amazon and have been holding up fairly well, but I've only had them 6 months. They're also very comfortable for my feet.
The only whiff of caution I would offer is that a lot of shoe makers in the barefoot arena tend to be newer companies and seem to be working out kinks. For example, I like the look of Groundies, but the two pairs I had both had the same sole and it cracked after a year of everyday use. The uppers were still holding up great.
Barefoot shoes as a general cut/style are starting to become a lot more mainstream, so I wouldn't worry about the shape.
All my shoes, and my medium warmth pair of boots, are this style now and my feet feel great. As a bonus, a lot of their soles are minimalist too, with no foam layer, so they last a decent amount of time. Granted, you can't really resole sneakers.
Ah, the loudness war. I would argue that carrying music around with us is a primary cause. Can't have quiet bits and loud bits in a recording if a lot of your audience will listen to it wearing headphones in a noisy area. They won't be able to hear the quiet bits unless unless they blow their ears out with the loud bits.
So even though digital has truly epic dynamic range compared to vinyl, it doesn't surprise me that more of that dynamic range would be preserved in a vynal mix. You can practically guarantee it's being listened too indoors.
I was not expecting the age. OG construction in the 1700s and abandoned since WWII.
In 1939 at the outbreak of World War II, the mansion was requisitioned by the government and used as a temporary housing for Polish soldiers. The Polish soldiers found the home too cold and decided to start a fire within the mansion so they would be moved to new housing accommodations. The fire destroyed a large part of the interior and the soldiers were removed from the house but only to tents on the Baron Hill Estate grounds. The mansion was abandoned afterwards and is still abandoned and derelict to this day
There's basically no activity for the last month and a half or so. Either this was also a bit of a fad or the site's being manually maintained and its creator has things happening in their personal life that's keeping them away from it.
I really liked my 3a. My wife had a 6a. I cringe when I think about either of us needing to replace what we have.
Unless I'm missing something, this has been in the works since at least 2024. I'm pretty sure I heard about this on a podcast a few months ago, but I'm struggling to dig it up.

Amusingly, Android and Windows have a similar feature that's been pretty reliable for the times I'm actually using windows.
Excellent photo! What did you shoot it with? I'm currently tire kicking on a more macro setup and am seeking inspiration.
Agree. Discovering new artists on YouTube music has been super easy.
I was thinking the exact same. YouTube music just isn't the same and they can't stop messing with the UI.
That's truly a massive flower. I've eaten plenty of artichokes, but seeing one in bloom with something for scale is impressive.

Nice photo btw!

You're totally not going to fit even a micro four thirds sensor in a phone, but there are a bunch of Chinese phones with larger sensors. Although they can be a PITA to find if you're on the US, reviews like them.
I suspect the reason why we don't see them from the mainline phone manufacturers comes down more to hardware BOM cost than packaging or size.

I will have to give these boots a look.
Rando pair of shoes in this genre:

Pumped storage hydroelectric plants are totally a thing for the uninitiated. This approach seems less reliant on geography.

This photo is from 2017. The dome got a cleaning in 2021. I wonder what that does to the surface of the marbel over time.
The US isn't #1, but our placement on this list still sad
There shouldn't be much to service, no?
